Hi, I'm new and will soon be in the market for a 240sx. I have a 00' prelude currently that I am parting out and will be selling. I am looking for a 91-94 s13 with an sr20 swap. I dosen't need a laundry list of mods, just the engine and the car in good condition. Here is my question, when the time comes, where is a good place to find one and how much will it cost me. thanks

There's a classified section with cars for sale. Search thru that. Really just Search thru the whole forum for your answers. Welcome to the bandwagon...

there could always be a problem. have a mechanic check out the car when before you get it

240's are too popular and expensive. The really cool cars are RX7s, I heard that those are really easy to mod and make insanely fast. :mepoke:
Now, go buy one of those instead.

Wow, double posts galore...
Anyway, yeah. You need to search.
Problems? Sure, tons! Esp. depending on who did the swap. And how they prepped the motor when they did it.
It's basically like buying any car with a swap...

make sure the swap was done properly... probably run what... 3-5k depending the amount of mods in the car.
assuming a well done swap, sr20 is not a bulletproof engine and comes with its own share of headaches. recently i've seen a ton of posts on various forums complaining about sr20 ticking... engine death. better research and buy one prepared.
'00 prelude = pretty reliable.
old s13 with swapped engine 4th or 5th owner (you) = headahes galore
just know what you're getting into, and good luck!

and dont forget that the 240 was probably driven to hell cause of the excitement of getting the swap... make sure no electrical problems... (causing me headaches right now) and just make sure the car is in good mechanical order...and see if you can find out where the swap was done so you know if it was a reputable shop (if not person) that did it...

No, that makes you a lurker. Since you never post, nobody would see your username so you shouldn't care. Just trying to generate more activity among the users.

Actually I don't care. Thanks to you guys, I come to zilvia.net to find info for my car if I'm having trouble w/ my car. I was just bored at work and see what you guys have to say about stuff.
I'm just saying if you're[including me] trying to target the BJers [Bandwagon Joiners] you should find a better way to filter them out, but not by posts. Cos I dont want people think I am a "BJ" and stop helping me out when I post my questions in 'Tech Talk'.
Thats all I have to say...haha. deng that's long.

I agree, but for now, without some artful scripting to make that magic happen, postcount works best. 100 posts is easily achievable, anyway. I'm probabaly not going to institute that usertitle just because I don't want to spend the time doing it.

I never really thought about it, but I do look like a bandwagoner, ohh well. But I have always liked 240s, and I want to try somthing different. I like the idea of a lightweight turbo rear wheel drive car, and 300zxs seem to costly.
