When I got my car I noticed that two of my injectors leaked, now all four of them leak a little. I've read in the previous posts that this is a common problem on the sohc engine. I was wondering, other than igniting from a spark or something is it something that I need to fix right away? Its been like this for a few months now. I guess its out of lazyness but I just don't feel like dealing with taking the fuel rail apart and changing o-rings or injectors. Maybe I'll just wish the problem away and the nissan fairy will fix my problem and leave a few bucks under my car or something.

Yeah I'll probably fix it. Is it a pain to take off the fuel rail off? Anything I need to know about before I start taking it apart, because I don't want to spend half a day just changing out o-rings.

uhh why would u need to remove ur fuel rail to work on injectors? after u remove ur injectors take out your sparkplug and crank over ur engine r you'll hear some cool noises like pistons popping craking rods breaking etc otherwise known as hydrolocking an engine

my 89 is doing the same thing... man its just pouring out gas..

i thought that you have to replace the whole injector?
if its just a o-ring that will fix it i would def fix it.. i think im going to take me car to another shop and see if it can be repaired.. the other shop i went to told me that i have to replace all 4... charge me $600.00 !!

the injector itself could be bad (leaking), but its worth diggin into to see if its only the seals/orings. if u take it apart and the seals r hard, flat-spotted, cracked etc then just replace em and hope for the best

Would I be wasting time if I grabbed some injectors from a junkyard? How much do new,or refurbished injectors cost. Oh and I took a closer look and only 3 are leaking but I'm thinking maybe doing all four since It might happen to the last one, but on the other hand what if me going around trying to fix something that ain't leaking cause it to start leaking anyway. aaaaahhhhhhhh.......

tough call, but i wouldn't waste time w/ used. rblts should be avail. if u can afford 4, do all 4 cuz they do clog up over time. u know what "Murphys Law" is??

Don't worry guys. Murphy's been visiting me for the last week. Unless he has an evil twin or triplet, you all should be OK.

Well, murphy has struck again, because I have a nasty lookin hole in one of the vaccum lines toward the rear of the intake on top. it looks like its connected to something that looks like an oversized pressure regulator or valve of some sort. Any body know what I'm talking about?

yenpit
03-12-2002, 12:32 PM
just a thought.....didnt u post bout brake probs?? iirc all 240's have power brakes, thus there is a large vac hose from int mfld over to brake booster on ur firewall near the brake master cyl. could that b the hose with the hole??

Hmm..behind the intake plenum? IAA valve if its behind. If its on top, its the BPT.

http://www.240sx.org has a FAQ with an exploded diagram of a KA, I suggest you take a look.

Its not the one that goes to the booster but on the top near the back of the plenum. It looks kinda like the actuator off of a turbo. Its got two vacuum hoses on top and one on the bottom ithink. The one on the bottom has the hole in it
