Tried searching but didn't find any similar symptoms. I have a 97 240sx KA24de original cluster. My tach reads fine 0-2k but then after that the reading starts to become a lot less than what it should be. Near what I think is redline only reaches to about 4-5k at most. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wish it was that easy, I've done that about 7 times, but thanks for the response

s14 tach is known to bounce around eventually.
Some dudes seemed to have success with re-soldering the signal screw solder points.
Worth a try if you believe all the wiring is okay.

Fastest option? Swap tachs
Best option is probably to have someone repair your current cluster though. Hopefully yours looks like the ones in the link. My 95 tach guts looks nothing like the ones in the links so I'm swapping my entire cluster.

are you sure the cluster hasn't been messed with? Did you buy this car as a shell? was it ever RB? If so, maybe someone turned the pot to try and correct the tach for an RB
