So apparently photobucket no longer allows 3rd party image hosting unless you spend $400/year. What's the best free image hosting site to use?

MOD EDIT: There are alternatives to Photobucket, see http://zilvia.net/f/announcement.php?f=7 (http://zilvia.net/f/announcement.php?f=7)

Which is weird because my account still allows it... Not that I use it anymore. I switched to imgur because photobucket doesn't work 95% of the time. But old images on my account seem to still work.

All of my build threads are jacked now. It's fucking stupid. God damn greedy assholes

Yeah, mine is messed up as well. Thankfully the thread isn't that long so I'll just have to move the photos over to Imgur.

RIP big/older build threads though... It's a shame really.

Yep all my build threads are fucked.

I guess PB is nearing the end and getting desperate. Not sure who would spend 400$ just to be able to post pics on the Internet. Maybe Google will buy them out and do away with the outrageous service fee.

I think this is the beginning of the end for PB. It was very obvious the entire site began to decline one all the ads clogged up the site so bad, it wouldn't even open on my phone.

To hell in a basket with PB....

All my photos are still working perfectly. I don't get why some members got hit with it and others didn't. I haven't uploaded anything in a few weeks. Wonder if that has something to do with it? Now I don't want to upload anything new for fear it'll suddenly screw up all the old photos.

Maybe it's only affecting the Photobucket accounts with higher than normal traffic?

6+ years of a multi car build thread, RIP, do not know how long it would even take to re upload to another site and re link an entire thread, f you PB

I always liked imgur better. Way less clutter, and it loads faster.

I mean if you are going to pay for something use SmugMug like the professionals use.

For those like me who have pages with a bunch of now dead PB links, use this site to fix them.

I tried both imgur and flickr and honestly can't figure out how embed pictures. Not sure if I'm just a potato or what

Well half of one. Figured it out but now the pictures are huge and can't figure out how to resize them. Damn is this how old people feel with technology? I feel useless

This was a nice fix, but PB has wised up to the situation...

Photobucket has been trying to get momey for a while now. This is why their unpaid site is rampant with ads.

By them killint third party linking it forces the user to go to their website, thus PB getting more money off of ads.

Good idea, except for failing to realize people are lazy.

Ha, all of the people actually logging into their account are downloading pictures to move them to a new host, they might see a huge spike in activity, but it will eventually die off and their site will wither away.

It'll be interesting to see if in the next few months they revert back to allowing 3rd party hosting to try and save the site.

Lucky for me every pic that's been uploaded to that site has been stored on an external had drive, may not be organized as nicely as I have it done on PB although
