i got some napa rotors with this 5 lug kit from a local shop and i install the 5 lug parts over the past few days... when i went to drive the car.. i hit the brakes.. and they felt like they were warped... i just found out tonight on a post earlyer about this guys who got napa rotors.. and they were uneven at the hub mounts... right out of the box to begin with... has anybody else had this problem?!?

also.. my buddys 5 lug s14A that has ABS.. his car is down right now.. but i need my car.. so.. will ABS rotors work on non ABS? i have a 95 s14B 5lug thanks for any answers...

I did a z32 brake conversion with napa rotors, been working fine since day one.

ABS will work on non ABS. ABS rotor is a little thicker I think but nothing that will make calipers not fit.

It very well could cause problems with calipers. The rotors are 2mm thicker, which is fine as long as you've worn off 2mm of pad material. But, they're also 5mm larger in diameter.

Please stop using this "S14a/b" stuff because it never means the same thing to everyone. Just say years or zenki/kouki or something. All '97-'98 S14s had the larger "ABS" sized rotors and calipers, so if your car is a '97-'98 you can and should use the "ABS" parts whether you have it or not.

Oh yeah.. I've got NAPA front rotors on my car. They're fine as long as you get the "premium" rotors. The basic ones are definitely cheaper.

whats the difference between the premium and basic rotors? Different steel?

Brembo blanks are the way to go.

Check the runout on the rotors when they are off the car, then check the runout on the rotors when they are on the car. I'll guess the "5-lug" kit is the problem in this instance.

Because the NAPA ones are usually about 20-25 bucks and we all pass a few NAPA stores as we traverse our respective cities... I bought some NAPA rotors when I was in a pinch for cash on my old S14 and had no problem with them for almost 2 years of hard, damn near abusive driving.

what's a "5 lug kit"?
what parts does it entail

i would put money on that kit as being the culprit

sorry.. its not really a kit.. just all the 5 lug parts.. my bad... i dont know why i put kit...

anyways.. they just put all the parts together... from different sources.. and i ended up with shit front brakes..

Did you check the runout on the rotors and then the runout on the rotors on the hub?
