There has been SO MUCH Kerry bashing around here, I thought it was time we try to balance it out a little. This means this is a NO KERRY BASHING thread. Thread is not to promote kerry either. Simply to BASH OUR PRESIDENT. (as our 1st amendment right says we can.)

All you hardcore right-wingers need not get in a tizzy.. You've already had your tizzy in countless other threads to date.

99. Christmas present to America, 2003: Orange Alert

Or how about lets look at the merits of "W's" experience:

George W. Bush

I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been "lost" and is not available.

MILITARY: I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use. By joining the Texas Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in Vietnam.

COLLEGE: I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. I was a cheerleader. I also joined the Order of Skull and Bones an elite secret society that uses cover-ups to advance it's members into high office positions. Thank goodness my biggest opponent this year is my fraternal brother.

PAST WORK EXPERIENCE: I ran for U.S. Congress and lost. I began my career in the oil business in Midland, Texas, in 1975. I bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas. The company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock. I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money. With the help of my father and our right-wing friends in the oil industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected governor of Texas.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS: I changed Texas pollution laws to favor power and oil companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union. During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden city in America. I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions in borrowed money. I set the record for the most executions by any governor in American history. With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida, and my father's appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President after losing by over 500,000 votes.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT: I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record. I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion dollars per week. I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury. I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history. I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any 2-month period. I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period. I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S. stock market. In my first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs and that trend continues every month. I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history. My "poorest millionaire," Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her. I set the record for most campaign fundraising trips by a U.S. President. I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations. My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. history, Enron. My political party used Enron private jets and corporate attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court during my election decision. I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton against investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent investigating the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating one of the biggest corporate rip-offs in history.

I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed. I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history. I changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts. I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any President in U.S. history. I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the history of the United States government. I've broken more international treaties than any President in U.S. history. I am the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission. I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law. I refused to allow inspectors access to U.S. "prisoners of war" detainees and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention. I am the first President in history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election). I set the record for least number of press conferences of any President since the advent of television. I set the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one-year period. After taking off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst security failure in U.S. History. I garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the World Trade Center attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most hated country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history. I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously protest me in public venues (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind. I am the first President in U.S. history to order an unprovoked, preemptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation. I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S. Citizens, and the world community. I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in duty benefits for active duty troops and their families in wartime. I am the first President in history to have a majority of Europeans (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security. I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker Buster," a WMD. I have so far failed to fulfill my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden to justice while your fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, wives and husbands are losing their lives every day.

RECORDS AND REFERENCES: All records of my tenure as governor of Texas are now in my father's library, sealed and unavailable for public view. All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view. All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice President, attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public review.

PLEASE CONSIDER MY EXPERIENCE WHEN VOTING IN 2004.

G.W.

Now.. I hope you guys get the jist.... enough is enough.

Note that I've responded in parentheses.

How do we loathe him? Let us count the ways...

1. His stupid war in Iraq. (Where he freed millions from oppression and removed a ruthless dictator from power? Where he put an end to the systemic genocide of Kurds?)
2. Halliburton. (You mean because they've been on the the most trusted contractors the United States has used since the second world war? Or maybe because they were simply the most qualified and best to do the jobs they've been given?)
3. Cheney. (Oh, yeah... that guy with 25+ years of foreign policy experience)
4. $87 Billion. (Isn't it $120 billion by now? What price freedom?)
5. Medicare "reform." (I really couldn't care less about this one.)
6. Where's Osama? (You try and find a guy who doesn't want to be found in his own terrain, which just happens to be pockmarked with hundreds of thousands of caves. Hell, I'd give you a SpecOps unit all for yourself.)
7. About those weapons of mass destruction... (Yeah, how about those. Check this out: http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=3001 Even liberals thought he had them. [and it has yet to be conclusively proven he doesn't... there's an awful lot of sand over there])
8. Donald Rumsfeld. (Don't really like the guy either... maybe he'll get changed)
9. Richard Perle. (We really should've shared more with Israel... they our homies.)
10. Paul Wolfowitz. (Eh.)
11. "Bring it on." (Arrogant, but who gives a damn? Our troops want a strong leader and that's what they got.)
12. "Mission Accomplished." (The ultimate form of saying "good job" to our troops. Look me in the cyber eye and tell me Bush has not been good to our troops.)
13. 400 billion dollar defense budget. (... 2 towers fell, four planes were used [or were intended to be used] as flying bombs, ~2,752 people died in New York alone...)
14. Four dollar social services budget. (What?)
15. Tax "reform" benefitting the top 2% income bracket. (And everyone else. RJF posted conclusive findings. http://factcheck.org/article280.html )
16. Karl Rove. (And...)
17. Didn't win the popular vote. (If Al Gore hadn't won the popular vote but had one the presidency, would you be whining? Uh... no.)
18. Didn't really win the electoral vote. Thanks, U.S. Supreme Court.
19. Hundreds of dead U.S. troops since the "end of combat operations" in Iraq. (War costs lives. Fact of life, doesn't mean that I don't feel for every family who loses a loved one. They lost their lives for a valiant reason.)
20. $180+ million campaign war chest, all the better to buy the next election with. ( http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2004/7/2/85714.shtml )
21. Professed support for constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. ( I still don't get anyone's point about this.)
22. Didn't bother to renew unemployment benefits in time for thousands of American families, December 2002. (Isn't Congress the one who introduces bills and the like?)
23. Fox News. (And the left has CNN, NBC, PBS, ABC, CBS.)
24. FCC attempts to deregulate broadcast ownership regulations. (Don't care.)
25. Repeated attempts to legalize oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. (Which would affect wildlife only minimally... the proposed drilling area is 1/10 of 1% of the total area.)
26. Son of George Bush, Sr. (GHWB was kinda forgettable)
27. Brother of Jeb. (and...)
28. Pushes "free trade" agreements enabling loss of U.S. jobs, exploitation of third world workers. (that's how business works, though)
29. "Operation Iron Hammer."
30. Guantanemo Bay human rights abuses. (oh wow, boo hoo, terrorists are getting mistreated)
31. "Collateral damage." (Every FREAKING WAR HAS COLLATERAL DAMAGE. It is UNAVOIDABLE)
32. The Patriot Act. (47 instances where the Patriot Act has allowed searches. 47.)
33. Patriot Act II. (?)
34. Misuse of FBI to harass peace activists. (Who were disturbing the peace)
35. Elevation of minor offenses to federal crimes under the guise of fighting "terrorism." (Keep the threats in jail, what do you care?)
36. Opposition to national health care. (Mmm... longer lines and crappier care. Sounds like a real deal-breaker.)
37. Opposition to University of Michigan's attempts to retain affirmative action in admissions policies. (Affirmative action is racism in reverse and does not encourage better students.)
38. Bechtel. (Iraq doesn't need running water, now does it?)
39. Undermining of Freedom of Information Act. (Eh.)
40. Massive unemployment. (9/11)
41. Tax breaks for companies moving facilities offshore. ( http://www.factcheck.org/article236.html )
42. Reactionary judicial appointees. ("Reactionary." haha)
43. Attempts to "reform" 75-year-old fair labor practices regulations by eliminating legal requirement to pay millions of Americans overtime. (Don't work overtime, then.)
44. Copped out on the Kyoto Protocol on global warming. (Your favorite person ever, John Kerry, said it was flawed.)
45. Lied to American public about reasons for war. (Faulty intelligence. Everyone had it. War was justified anyway.)
46. Lied to the United Nations about reasons for war. (No one cares. Get over it.)
47. Prohibited filming or broadcast of coffins of slain service personnel returning to Andrews Air Force Base. (The media pricks would use them politically)
48. Lied about Jessica Lynch's "heroism." (You're right... surviving 9 days in Iraqi captivity and not losing your will to live isn't heroic.)
49. Ignored the heroism of less-photogenic/non-white combat personnel who perished in action. (There we go again... "Bush is racist")
50. Lied that Saddam Hussein and Al Quaeda had something to do with one another. (Still not known. Members of SH's cabinet DID have ties with AQ)
51. "Axis of Evil." (... including whomever wrote this)
52. Executed 152 prisoners, including the mentally disabled, as Governor of Texas. (An eye for an eye.)
53. Publicly mocked Karla Faye Tucker prior to her execution - "Please don't kill me." (Found guilty of murdering a couple with a pick axe.)
54. Ignores Chinese abuses in Tibet. (Our relations are already rocky... sometimes you have to overlook things)
55. Tony Blair/George Dubya: best pals. (This is a problem because why?)
56. Administration doctored CIA intelligence reports to make case for war, then tried to blame the agency. (Except the blame truly was on the agency. There has not been any proof to that claim.)
57. Opposition to minimum wage increases. (You raise minimum wage, more jobs are lost. It'd do you well to learn economics.)
58. "Shock and Awe." ("Left and Lefter.")
59. Attempts to distract public from failed policies through use of gay marriage as a campaign "wedge" issue. (... just like Kerry used Vietnam to distract public from the fact that he had no real plan about anything? Just like Kerry used Cheney's daughter politically?)
60. Willingly accepts support of Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson. (WHO ARE EVIL NAZIS! AHHHHHHHHH!)
61. Gave convicted Iran-Contra criminal John Poindexter a job. (and hundreds of thousands of convicted felons are given jobs each year...)
62. "Total Information Awareness." (Yo mama.)
63. Administration has reserved right to preemptively use nuclear weapons for "defense" purposes. (Do you want to have your family blown up before we use a nuke? I didn't think so.)
64. Went to England to get his picture taken with the queen in order to appear more presidential during 2004 campaign. (and possibly because they have been our stoutest allies during the WoT)
65. Protectionist policies for big-bucks buddies in agricultural, steel, and textile industries. (because those guys provide hundreds of thousands of jobs and millions/billions in tax money)
66. Opposition to living wage ordinances. (You stupid, you get crappy pay. Sorry.)
67. Best pals with Ken Lay of Enron, massive gubernatorial and presidential campaign contributor. (That doesn't mean much. One of my friends got stoned and drunk all the time, but I don't. But by that logic, you must assume I do.)
68. Refusal to condemn Israel's murder of American peace activist Rachel Corrie. (Was it a murder? Was it?)
69. Refusal to negotiate with Yasser Arafat, elected leader of the Palestinian people. (Because the guy supports Hamas, a known terrorist organization responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Israelis a year)
70. Support for development of "non-lethal" weapons systems. (would you rather blow up a terrorist who knows vital information or save him for later?)
71. Support for "Star Wars II" missile defense system. (which could save millions of lives)
72. Flew to Iraq to eat turkey on Thanksgiving. (... and increase the morale of our troops)
73. Didn't bother to visit wounded soldiers in hospitals on Thanksgiving. (Hello, he's the President!)
74. Thanksgiving visit forced soldiers to eat turkey "dinner" at 6:00 am local time. (Forced? Yeah, right. That food was probably the best they'd had in weeks. Poor soldiers.)
75. Didn't bother to visit the families of slain soldiers. (Yeah, the Pres sure has time to visit over 1000 families.)
76. Hasn't attended any soldiers' funerals. (This guy IS running a country, you know. Besides, he isn't false like that.)
77. Taxpayers' tab for 2-hour Baghdad visit: $1 million. (Look at Clinton's traveling costs while in office, biatch.)
78. Using FBI to spy on domestic protest groups - just like Nixon - in new COINTELPRO campaign.
79. Brother Neil paid $60,000 per year as consultant by company seeking government contracts.
80. Republican filibuster for Bush judicial nominees.
81. General Tommy Franks: "Martial law could be declared" if there's another 9/11 style attack in U.S. (Doubtful that'd happen unless the terrorists used multiple attacks and/or dirty bombs)
82. Special favors for broadcast buddies courtesy FCC: Repeal of regulations limiting broadcast ownership. (Who cares? Your darling NPR is still up, isn't it?)
83. Ignored warnings from outgoing Clinton administration officials about threats posed by Al Queda. (Outgoing Clinton administration officials ignored offers to give up bin Laden.)
84. Project for a New American Century: Group planned Iraq attack before Bush was even elected. (Iraq had it coming. Clinton said so. Kerry said so. Gore said so...)
85. Support for limitations on pain and suffering, medical malpractice damage awards by courts. (Yeah, that stupid doctor pricked me with the needle and it hurt too much, so I really should be awarded $20 million)
86. Changed headline on White House website to rewrite history: "End of combat operations" became "end of major combat operations." (It's called a revision. Notice that page in the newspaper that says "Retractions?")
87. Modified White House website to prevent indexing/archiving of such future revisions. (Now the President can code. Sweet.)
88. Rush Limbaugh likes him. (And?)
89. Supports nuclear power. (Clean, long-lasting... )
90. Refuses to fund renewable/eco-friendly energy research and programs. (Nah, that stuff about hydrogen cars was just fluff.)
91. Blocking congressional investigation into 9/11. (The 9/11 commission just reinforced what we already knew. What a garagantuan waste of money and manpower.)
92. His "forest preservation" initiatives were the opposite.
93. Oil drilling in the Great Lakes. (eh)
94. Can't drive a Segway. (...)
95. Thought milk cost $5 a gallon. Totally out of touch. (When was the last time the President cared about costs of items stocked in the White House kitchen?)
96. Tried to make the queen wear an ID in her own palace - AND screwed up her TV reception. (Now we're being silly.)
97. None of the Babes, though employed, can afford health care.
98. Pledged billions for AIDS research in Africa; forgot to pay up once the cameras were off. (You funny. You funny man.)
99. Christmas present to America, 2003: Orange Alert (Al Qaeda's early Christmas present to America, 2001: flying airplanes into buildings.)

The Iraqis in these pictures really seem to hate us.

I find it difficult to bash the President just because of some of his quotes when most people have trouble speaking in public to a dozen or so people, much less billions.

Writing skills are getting shittier and shittier, at least in the California schools whose kids I worked with (around northern california, mostly).

Seems like inability to communicate is an inability found in alot of people (if you're in college, I bet you know a few professors that suffer from this...), no matter how smart (or not) they are.

when i was watching the most recent debate the only response i could see Bush come with was " my opponent's record shows..." he didnt say anything about what he would do, the overall theme was my opponent blah blah blah... i personally dont like either one, but since in the election you choose the least shitty of the two i go with kerry...

LOL.

There haven't been any insulting, straight-out Kerry-bashing threads...all the other threads have been politically based on facts, with some occassional humor thrown in.

So, to make it fair and balanced, I thought I'd contribute. :coold:

Kerry is still claiming Bush will institute a draft. (this is not bashing... after all, the truth hurts)

Who introduced a bill to the House regarding the draft? Charlie Rangel, a Democrat. Who supported it? 14 other Democrats:
Rep Abercrombie, Neil [HI-1] - 1/7/2003
Rep Brown, Corrine [FL-3] - 1/28/2003
Rep Christensen, Donna M. [VI] - 5/19/2004
Rep Clay, Wm. Lacy [MO-1] - 1/28/2003
Rep Conyers, John, Jr. [MI-14] - 1/7/2003
Rep Cummings, Elijah E. [MD-7] - 1/28/2003
Rep Hastings, Alcee L. [FL-23] - 1/28/2003
Rep Jackson, Jesse L., Jr. [IL-2] - 7/21/2004
Rep Jackson-Lee, Sheila [TX-18] - 1/28/2003
Rep Lewis, John [GA-5] - 1/7/2003
Rep McDermott, Jim [WA-7] - 1/7/2003
Rep Moran, James P. [VA-8] - 1/28/2003
Rep Stark, Fortney Pete [CA-13] - 1/7/2003
Rep Velazquez, Nydia M. [NY-12] - 1/28/2003
Rep Norton, Eleanor Holmes [DC] - 1/28/2003(withdrawn - 6/21/2004)

A vote for Kerry is a vote for no uncertain uncertainty.

This draft shit is starting to piss me off now. It was an e-mail that was chained across the US and now all the liberal yuppie faggots of America's youth believe every word of it. Its not happening, pull your panties out your ass and open your eyes, pick up and newspaper and then you can start bashing which side you want.

the draft bill was created to raise awareness about how our troups are being spread thin, and how the majority of the people in the armed forces are low-middle class americans. And also about focusing on this "back-door draft" of our national gaurd members.

That's why Rangel, who created the bill, voted against it. NO ONE wants a draft. The bill obviously did it's job of raising awareness about the problems with our man power in the military being stretched thin. That was the purpose.

It's all Dem political tricks to try and scare the uninformed into voting against Bush. If anything, Kerry will have to bring the draft back after the re-enlistments drop off to nothing.

If you're a conservative concerned about the "liberal media," then you should be VERY concerned about media ownership deregulation. This isn't a D vs. R issue, this is just evil. Basically, the FCC has rules in place such that one media conglomerate can't control all the airwaves in one market. This deregulation aims to remove these restrictions. You know how, in a communist country, all the media comes from the government? Well, in this situation, all your media could come from one corporation. Is that any better? No! This particular regulation keeps things nicely in check.

The FCC used to make a lot of sense, but it seems like they've just gone batshit insane in the past few years with aims to fuck the American people. I don't blame Bush for that, though, so much as the general insecurity that seems to have permeated our culture. That and, most people don't understand the slippery slope. "Why should I care if one company owns all the media?" "I don't listen to Howard Stern, I don't like that filthy language, so why should FCC fines bother me?" I see a lot of that attitude in your responses - "well, don't work overtime!" The world doesn't work like that. Just because something doesn't affect you directly doesn't mean it isn't unjust, and supporting it gives those in power precedent to come after things important to you next. It's not paranoid, that is the way things work.

My main point of offense against a "gay marriage amendment" is thus: whether you support it or not, it does NOT belong in the constitution! Yeah, let's put "no fags allowed" right up there next to the right to bear arms and the right to a speedy trial. Let's take a lesson from the prohibition of alcohol, which makes up a nice chunk of wasted space in the constitution - 2 amendments, one to institute it, one to repeal it. Just because it's a hot political issue now that a large segment of the population thinks is immoral, doesn't mean it always will be. If you want to call it a "domestic partnership" instead of a marriage, that's fine, but again, that's not amendment-worthy. Whatever happened to states' rights? I thought the republican party was the party of states' rights. Defining marriage at the federal level would take power out of their hands. By the way, for the person that mentioned it in another thread - gay couples are capable of raising healthy children, much healthier than the single-parent households that are sadly the norm in this country now. It's called adoption, or artificial insemination. Plenty of straight couples marry now that DON'T have the capability to reproduce naturally, also - are you going to stop a man and a woman from marrying if one or both is infertile?

On some of the kerry jokes: it really scares me to the bone that people think opposing a war constitutes "aid and comfort to the enemy" and therefore treason. That's fascist thinking.

Now that that's out of my system, back to the uninformed bashing.

Thatguy, I have a serious, nonsarcastic question for you. You are currently a marine, correct? I have a close friend who is a marine and is in Iraq for his second tour. When I tried to talk politics with him, he acted as if he could not say one bad word about the president. Is this true throughout the corps, or is that just the way he feels? If it is true throughout the corps, then what is the thought process when a new president takes office and goes against some of the things that the former had done?
(is this a stupid question?)
