ok so i'm doing a SOHC to DOHC swap this weekend, my friend is at my house while i'm working pulling the SOHC motor out now :) and he is doing all the wiring and everything and he wants to know if there is anyway to splice the SOHC diagonostic stuff into the DOHC harness without using the whole DOHC body harness?
thanks

even if you did, the CONSULT wouldn't be able to plug into it, and the ECCS checker box wouldn't help either. You need the underdash harness for DOHC if you want CONSULT to work.

I can't believe you answered that when its been done 100 times already.
try searching if you really care, cause there have been a couple write ups that apparently no one reads and about 100 threads about this.

I only answered it because it's diagnostics-specific, and I didn't really address it in my writeup (that I recall).

CONSULT plug is only 4 wires, cut it out at a boneyard, then tie them in right at the ECU, simple. All this using existing harness chit is a waste of time.

Meh. I guess that's true. I'm all about doing it OEM, though. You and your 4 wire entire-car harness.
