I have a pair of nearly perfect black defrost vents for sale. one tab broke when I removed it... (I have removed two of these and the exact same tab broke no matter how careful I was!) lol. I don't think you will even be able to notice when you install if because all the other tabs are intact and they hold it tightly in place.
With that said I would recommend that you take a dermal and shave off some material from the lobe of the tab so it is easier to remove in the future. these become brittle with age and you don't want to have to find new ones if you ever have to remove them to take out your dash.
there are also two very small nicks which I show in the pictures that have been filled in with a very small dab of epoxy. I am a perfectionist and I think it looks pretty tidy.
