whenever i make hard left turns or after i crusie after hard driving. i distinctly smell gas vapors coming thru my vents. i have checked my injector rings to see if they mite be leaking when my motor is cold, then expand shut once its hot. no such luck.the fuel lines and rails are in top notch shape absolutely fine in every sense. so i can only guess it mite be the charcol canister emitting gas vapors. would not having my egr hose goin to my intake be a reason to cause this situation. i have the egr hose capped shut. i wonder if this could be a reason for it.

Have you looked around your injectors for leaks?

The EGR is a seperate system that has nothing to do with canister purge. Are you sure its coming from from your vents and not from the fuel pump access panel or filler neck? :bite:

BTW, why would you cap your EGR hose shut? NOx formation :goyou: and combustion chamber temp too high. = bad

About the gas smell....check your fuel lines running from your fuel filter to the fuel regulator. Look specifically at the UNDERNEATH portion of the fuel lines. One of the lines could have gone baD & started to leak slightly. I just discovered today that one of my fuel lines had gone bad on me and was leaking. I didn't realize it as I didn't smell any gasoline odor from the leak. Luckily a buddy of mine came over today & wanted to see something underneath my hood. He spotted the leak & pointed it out to me. I didn't realize I had a leak on the fuel lines as I hadn't checked underneath my hood in the past week!! I had replaced those fuel lines less than 2 years ago & had never expected them to fail so soon & so prematurely...damn thing is less than 2 years old!!
I pulled the leaking fuel line & looked at it...it had cracked & was worn due to excessive motor movement during hard acceleration....(I've got a lead foot!!)...I discovered the fuel line had cracked due to all that torque movement action caused by my weak motor mounts....my motor mounts need to be replaced!!!
