So, I just recently bought a '95 s14 and drove it home about 350 miles away. For the first 150 miles or so it ran no problem but then started to kind of buck or jolt forward when accelerating but wasn't all that often.

I then stopped and got gas (91) and the problem got worse and now doing it a little more often. By the time I made it to the surface streets near my house, it was really rough when accelerating.

Then the next morning, I went to turn the car on and it would turn over and start but then would almost immediately die. If I gave it gas, it would stay on pretty much until I stopped giving it gas. I checked the ECU and gives the 55 code so no problems there.

At one point in the day, it stopped even turning over so I replaced the battery and back to where it would start, then die. I tried something where I just revved it at like 1500-2500 rpm for 2-5 minutes and when I was done the car was running and didn't die. I drove it around for a few minutes and drove okay, but at the end of the drive it started to do the jerking or bucking when slowly accelerating again.

Tried to start it again this morning just to see and same problem where it would die immediately. I didn't do the rev thing because it was early in the morning and the car has an obnoxious exhaust on it (that will be taken of soon).

I read a few threads but am kind of lost, and maybe in over my head :-/. Any ideas?

Could be a bad vacuum leak that got worse as you drove longer.

I'll check the lines out but that would make sense for the jerking but would that cause the car to die immediately after starting?
