So far I heard that this car will eventually make it to the US. I think it would be nice to have a fixed roof Miata....it would make a nice track car.

It's got a little s15 roofline back down to the C-Pillar...very nice.

Stick a 190hp version of the turbo 4 they got, plus a mazda speed variant with a RENESIS in it, keep it under 2300lbs or whatever the current Miata ragtop weighs and it'll kick loads of ass.

but yeah, most cars arent that nice. i think the RX8 looks like poo when compared to the FD RX7.

Maybe you've seen the pics... everywhere? The Miata coupe has been out for a while now. All the car mags ran features on it back in the day.

Actually if I recall correctly from an article I read several months ago about that car, is that it is going to be a Europe-only car and the "special" miata that we got was the Mazdaspeed turbo Miatas that are currently out.

I love the way the fixed roof looks, but I still do not think that we are getting it here in the US.

The coupe is still not available in the UK...but we can hope it comes over here. :x:

i made a thread about this a while back with the same pictures.
anyways, that is quite a nice looking car and i think if they released it here it would do a lot to kill the stereotypes for miata drivers.

oh cmon. the common stereotype is that miatas are driven by girls. i know that it's not always true, as would anyone who has been to an auto-x. those guy miata owners are hardcore about those little cars. the point is that the majority of people who buy miatas are girls because they're "cute."

dang a quick glance looks like an exotic. I always liked the miata with the hardtop. but when in HS, guys go eww thats a chick car, so while in HS being cool is everything so I never got one. But this is hott.

btw, speaking on mazda, any of those new 05(or 06) FD true? I thought the Rx8 didn't sold well.

i agree with that one guy. it does have an s15 like roofline in the rear. but i do like the hardtop look better.
