I have been looking into a way to get my speedometer to function with the Z33 transmission CD009 from the 350z. I have been looking into a way to use the existing ABS sensor. Finally i came across a few write ups on using a Digital Dakota SGI-5e to solve this problem. Unfortunately no one has done a write up using this combination. Here is a step by step instruction of how I got my speedometer to work. It is close it is within +or- 5 mph.

Step 1 - Buy Digital Dakota SGI-5e

Step 2 - Disassemble gauge cluster to get access to the wiring behind it.
Cut Yellow/Red wire shown in pictures and solder your own wire and that goes to OUT1 on the Digital Dakota.

Step 3 - Wire up
ignition power to power terminal on SGI 5e
Any chassis ground to the ground terminal
OUT1 gets wired to Yellow/Red wire behind cluster

Step 4 - Wire Factory ABS sensor. Here is where the magic happens. I suggest buying some plastic splices. Next run a wire from the Digital Dakota SensorIN to the ABS Sensor you choose to use. I used the front Passenger ABS sensor. Splice white wire on ABS sensor and plug into the splice and input the wire to sensor input.

At this point you can turn the car on and the Digital Dakota should power up and the speedometer will get a signal while you drive but it will be very very wrong.

Now comes the easy part setting up the Digital Dakota. The settings are easy enough to understand by reading directions.

While the power is off hold SET/- button and turn on the power.
The Digital Dakota will power up in the settings mode.
Press SET/- button while the setting is on OUT
Press the INC/+ till it reads H-H
Press SET/- to get to CAL
Press SET/- press INC/+ make it 0.250
press SET/-
Press INC/+ till END appears
Press SET/- to exit menu

At this point you should be able to drive and the speedometer should be within + or - 5mph
