My asking price is $9500, but will entertain all realistic offers.
To expect realistic offers you should probably start with a realistic asking price...

There should be a lot of value seen in both the car and the swap.
I sold my 89 hatch that was nearly mint and 100% unmolested. Every time I turned the key it ran perfectly and got me where I was going. With that I was able to sell it for a premium because someone saw the value in having a virgin s-chassis. This car has half the miles mine did.
I've been to Tays Automotive, as I used to live in a neighboring town, and they are excellent at what they do. I know everyone here is a master Mechanic that can pick up an SR for $2k off eBay and install it in your parents driveway over a weekend. However, I think there is also value in having a drop dead reliable, low mileage, SR with AC (in an 89) that is worth considering.
You never know what you get buying someone else's project. I don't know what people are paying for RHD Silvia's off the boat but this has got to be as close to a low miles SR S13 that's LHD that you're gonna find.

People seem to forget that a blacktop is nearing almost 20 years old no matter how clean it is on the outside.........
Whitey, you are in essence buying someone else's "project" as the car is not stock, so not sure how you make that distinction just because this was swapped by a shop and has low miles.........
To the OP, has the engine been opened up before or after purchase (be it to just pop the valve cover off or a bit more extensive)??

I totally see where you're coming from, but I use the case as an exception only because I've personally been to the shop and have seen how selective they are about they SR's they install. The swaps that I've seen them install, they pick the engines out themselves. It's as comfortable I could feel about putting a 20 year old engine that's been on a long boat ride into my car.

True, but it was in excellent condition prior to swap, minus cosmetic flaws and the cracked dash. The original seats were faded, so they were replaced with S14's.

I wouldn't necessarily call this a project car. The 240SX was in exceptionally good running condition prior to the swap. Everything has been done professionally, including maintenance, by one of the most reputable Nissan shops in Texas.

Yes, the engine has been checked prior to purchase, way before it was swapped in. At Tay's Automotive, each engine/front clip is hand picked and kept as "inventory" until someone decides to pull the trigger.

Thank you for the kind words. The shop does take care of their customers, and they don't just buy engines/front clips in bulk on the roll of dice so cut costs. When you are warrantied for three months after the initial swap, and two years later, she still runs and drives like the first day you picked her up, I'm sure you'd be a returning customer. I've been a customer for nearly 11 years, as a handful more are, and will continue to do so.
Again, please refrain from negative comments if you do not intend to purchase the car. No body likes a negative Nancy.

For all the dreamers and "my boy built a 4JZ swapped S15 for half the price of what you're asking" gents out there, this bump is for you.
I would like to move her to a new owner before the new year, as I have plans of bringing over another car to take her spot in the garage.

Hate to burst all of your bubbles... but with the original paint(yes that's actually worth more than a clean respray), clean body, and stock sr swap in manual. His price is not far off. The high side of what to be expected, but not a bad starting point.
Buy a few s chassis(swapped and not swapped) and find out what true value is.
Glws, good canvas to start with.

.........
And if this observation was indeed fact, this would not still be for sale almost 3 months later.....And no, the answer is not "just wait for the right buyer" or "Miata"........
Still a 20 year old engine with a stock S13 chassis with a non flawless interior (cracked dash) for almost 10K. Someone could buy a clean S13 shell (although few and far between), go cherry pick their own SR and have one running for less than 6K all in over a weekend and a 6 pack as it is so easy to swap these things.
Just saying. :hs:

ive owned over 15 240sx with various sr20s ive had a few as simple as this one. cheapest ive sold for for a basic swap with all ac and stuff working for 4k. granted this was like 10 years ago. but you can get a good mech and buy a shell that just blew motor and be done with a car out the shop at 6-7k with a 6 month waranty this asking price isnt the top of the thresh hold this asking price is absurd. seems too me worth about 6-7k as a top thresh hold. 5 k if he wanna sell fast. but im talking while being away from the 240sx sr20det community for over 10 years.
ive actually started looking at 240sx cause i figured this is still a great car that i can get cheap but 9k for this shit ill look at other models cars now since if this is really worth 9k it be pointless to actually bother with 240sx anymore. 5500 and ill think about it since i have to replace the ugly brown interior just to feel better

What's the lowest price you would take? Ask yourself this (don't answer the question). Then whatever figure that may be, subtract $1000 for shitty brown interior. Once you have that number, that should be your new asking price.
Example, "lowest I will take is $8500". Shitty brown interior, price is set at $7500. Then maybe you'll get some bites.

$7500 is really high. but maybe im just out of date. and dont know todays market. i think $6500 actually sounds reasonable asking not firm price.

Rather find a clean 167K mile S13 with clean interior than a 67K mile S13 with dodo brown interior and a cracked dash :ugh:
