need help with what low,medium,high disk is???

im thinking about getting some ssr professors but can't figure out what disk size i need. here is a link to there size chart http://www.speedstar.co.jp/collection/ssr_sp1/spec/spec_17.htm ,i was thinking about getting the 17x9+16 MD but it says they are for a medium disk. i have zbrakes on the front would this clear them or would i need to get a hyper disk wheel size like the 17x9 +19 HP. o i forgot i have a s13 stock fenders but the back are rolled. or could i go even lower with out having to pull my fenders. thanks for your help in advance.

The number on top in millimeters is the size of the lip, so I say go with the MD because the lip is 72mm. Not sure how it will fit in your application though. I too would like someone to clarify the meaning of the different disks.

Usually you need high disk or at least mid for clearance of 4-piston calipers.

The disk just refers to the spoke design. High disk wheels bow outward from the center and give the smallest lips. This doesn't mean they necessarily look bad, though... I dunno about the SP1, but in Volk wheels, the high disk gives that nice concave spoke look.

In this case, you could've just looked up the "matching" chart. The suggested sizes won't give you the biggest lip and widest width, but they will tell you what disk you NEED to clear your calipers.

In this case, for the R32 GTS-t, S14 K's, and S15 Spec-R, which all use the same calipers as the US-spec Z32, they recommend the medium disk with 17" wheels. So the 17x9 +16 MD is probably a good pick for the front.

Disk type doesn't always refer to spoke design. It could also be a change in the backpad thickness, or a combination of spoke and backpad. In the case of the SP1's I'm pretty sure it's the backpad thickness that changes.
