Hey Zilvia,

Been a while since I really came on here. I used to be around in the bay area drift scene around 03-07. Pretty much called it quits in 07 when I could foresee what drifting was going to (and did) become.

~Travel back in time~

I had my last 240 back in 07'. S14 with SR and a bunch of random goodies I picked up on my trip to Japan. All the weird stuff that is now worth goo-gobs of money.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/100_1870Medium_zps1s4htiga.jpg

Anyways..after I sold that I went on to explore other things in life. Pretty much all my friends who were like minded dropped out of it as well...

Two of my closest friends ended up starting a dealership called Wolfreign Motors. I would still come hangout from time to time. They mainly had Japanese cars, but nothing cool like we used to have. Wrx's, M3's, Evo's etc...Sports car kinda stuff.

But in 2014, I caught wind of the whole 25 year rule. Did a little research and approached my Wolfreign buddies with the idea of giving this a shot. So pretty much we went out to Japan in 2015 to find out how stuff went down out there!

Our travels brought us to Osaka, where we met Shane from Stacked Inc. Who in turn introduced us to Naoki. And from there we forged a close relationship with the two! (cough Super D cough)

Later that year, I was asked by Shane if I wanted to come work in Japan for him. So I said fuck it, sold all my stuff and moved to Osaka! I got a S14 out there for about $800 bucks. It hit a pole and the kid gave up on it and moved on to the next car.

This is how most cars in Japan are. Drifted, busted and forgotten.

It had a HKS 2530, cams and a bunch of other random stuff.
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_5648_zps4res3icn.jpg

After a day or two, I picked up some free fenders and hood. Pulled the side out with a forklift and a chain, found some headlights and kinda cleaned it up.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_5743_zpsafhqi97s.jpg

Found a sweet Tommy Kaira shift knob at our yard and popped it in.
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_5745_zpsvw2aw84e.jpg

I am so glad I got back into drifting in Japan. I learned so much and have gotten to drive with some of the best drivers in the world. I also have a new understanding of car dynamics, alignment and technique. Also that the most busted, banged up cars All thanks to big N-dawg, Naoki.

I spent a lot of time hanging out at Naoki's workshop too.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_7287_zpskc8lbvcu.jpg

As my time in Japan was winding down, I knew I had to send a car back for myself. I decided to buy my friends old crashed S13 and send it back home.

And now...The damage.

Shock tower was collapsed too...

And from there...It went on to Wolfreign! More progress tomorrow :2f2f:

Thanks man! Lots of Japan and gaudy car stuff to follow!

Before the car could leave. I had to plan this thing out right. How did I want to fix the melting shock tower? Cut another car up and weld the parts on? YEA THATS WHAT ILL DO!

So,after Super D, Alex and Aaron from Wolfreign came to Osaka to just hangout with Naoki and all of the Kansai drift squad. To show their appreciation for us helping him get to America throwing Super D, Naoki and Miki held a private day for us at D-Course which consisted of Team BURST/ Pink Style members, Team BLOW, and some D1SL drivers. All in all, a great day!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_1496_zpsawg9gmk1.jpg

Naoki hits the wall at Meihan so often, he has some quick cheap fixes down. Can't afford to keep buying clear tails? Just flat black some stock ones and toss them in!
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_1493_zpsxtgnkogf.jpg

He hits stuff...A lot.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_1494_zpslz6ekjtw.jpg

Some other cars from the day. All were very stoked to get stickers from us and pop them on!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_1502_zps9jvuv5tk.jpg

Naoki invited us to C-course the following day. He said today was "practice for the real track!"...

Why am I talking about this? Cause at C-course I got my donor for a shock tower :drama:

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_1544_zpsl0fxh8sy.jpg

Aaron flipped...But wasn't gonna let that stop him!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_1556_zpsokuzujwg.jpg

He even made it in last months Drift Tengoku magazine!

we fixed the intercooler, pushed the roof back up and took it out. Naoki was so stoked on it. He stopped driving his own car so he could drive this one. Just the kinda guy he is haha

Ryota Nishi's S13
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_1533_zpsrv6ftppc.jpg

And Hiromitsu's S13 I'm sure most of you are familiar with
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_1534_zpseqeyin7p.jpg

Before we left, the original owner wanted to take something important from the car he forgot he left in there..

His License plate heat shield! He hadn't taken the registration out of his name yet haha (You have to turn in the plates nowadays in Japan, that is why it's getting hard to find Japanese plates for sale!)

And from there I took the car apart and chopped off what I thought I needed to fix the S13 once it landed!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_1919_zps38l77ni7.jpg

Fun to read, def get a unique perspective on things overseas!

Thanks! I'll try to keep it on topic with my car, but I love posting about Japan so people who've never been can see it!

Anyways, there were a few things I picked up out in Japan that were pretty special to me. When I first got into drifting, I stumbled upon the website CRAZY-MAX. I went to the original spot in Nanko and even did some drifting there (it's now the equivalent of a famous skate spot thats got skate stoppers on it or something)

Turns out one of the first guys I met in Japan was the dude behind the site! Over that time we became friends and he shot me some of the coolest car related stuff I own!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2647%201_zpsc4ybtq6o.jpg
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_6714_zpsqaynw5wk.jpg

He has a super sick S14 nowadays.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_3160_zpsfici9aev.jpg

I met him at a shop called M-Magic Garage, which is owned by two half brazilian, half Japanese brothers. I know right off the bat that I recognized one of them. Turns out he was in a Drift Tengoku video I used to watch all the time!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/12308675_845486452232357_7535930297256650372_n_zps tm0ykrz6.jpg

His Rocket Bunny 180 is super clean and has a lot of nice details (gas gauge in the center console was a nice touch I thought!)

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2265_zpshpmcottv.jpg

Hard to get a good angle in the little shop! Sorry!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2264_zpsdjhcuzx0.jpg
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2262_zpsk4qrvv5l.jpg

His shop specializes in water transfer products...I knew I needed a wheel like that! It reminded me of the G-Corp 180!

So I went to Up Garage, found a cheap black wheel and had him do one for me!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2507_zpsyvcgdjql.jpg

I really missed my old Yanack shift knob. So...I found another and bought that thing!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_0807_zps5afdgjfj.jpg

Stopped by B-West and got some stickers before I left too!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2928_zps8jonnhsv.jpg

So the car made it back to the states. Everything on the car had to go!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2867_zps1enyb7lw.jpg

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2649_zpswj8hei5b.jpg

Oof...That's just ugly..

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2662_zpskst9bndz.jpg

Powerbrace was totally bent. Took a really hard hit!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2661_zpsfmcu62tf.jpg

Powered by Taco Bell

But by the end of the week I had it ready for the transplant!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2865_zpsiq03tggm.jpg

And while my car sat, I helped Alex with his S14!
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/7_zpsukowdpfa.jpg

And always a big thanks to Andre comin through to help out!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_0718_zpsifo5qvpd.jpg

I picked up full S15 interior from a friends wrecked car out in Japan, so I took the dash and what little interior the car had, out.

Yea lets crash for sure!

Where was I?

Oh right.

So with every container we get in, comes a little bit of love for each of our cars.

It's pretty easy to get basic parts for your cars when your friends shops in Japan look like this...

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_1718_zpsecykgdtj.jpg

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_1666_zpsebi7lf52.jpg

I picked up some HKS cams from this friend in particular.

He also has a D1SL S13 that will be eligible for import this year. Slide in my PM'S If you are interested

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_1852_zpsfauwbuwu.jpg

One morning at Naoki's I went rummaging around in the car's in his yard..

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_7338_zpswfe9ucek.jpg

His old hood from his D1SL car!!!
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_7279_zpsdjorrylj.jpg

But I managed to find one of his old seats from 2000 or so...

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_0702_zpsjpdmrje5.jpg

But the thing is faded to hell
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2921_zps16h2xyse.jpg

...Anyone know of a good reupholstery shop in the Bay Area? Lemme know!

Rain actually fell in California and delayed my (not me) welding of the new front end on...but it cleared up and we got the new front end on as strait as possible. I mean...That's what adjustable suspension arms are for right?

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2953_zpsjc4pnrcg.jpg
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2928_zpsdbwe9lmp.jpg
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/1_zpss9tffev2.jpg

The frame rail I used to replace the old one was tin canned a bit as well. So we welded up a fat plate on the side to keep it stiff. Mr. Animal Style Julian also welded me up a power brace!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/2_zpsjew5dhf3.jpg
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/4_zpsxdofuyha.jpg
http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/6_zpsfv527qs0.jpg

Of course its not 100% strait and not 100% perfect...But after driving in Japan, and seeing what people can do with cars that are repeatedly smacked into walls and torn up..I have total confidence in this thing performing when the time comes. You just gotta drive around whatever problems arise.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_2589_zpsfqaoe3p9.jpg

Father time explaining his simple suspension set up and why he uses it.

More simple updates tomorrow! ....Can't wait for the container (MORE PARTS!!)

Okayyyyy!! So some stuff has happened (Not really)

I got my engine stuff together and dropped it off with a friend so he could assemble the motor. Nothing crazy. HKS cams, head gasket, springs and retainers, cam gear, head studs and some fresh bearings. Only want 350hp. All this will support that perfectly :2f2f:

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_3290_zps7m1j8vme.jpg

Also got my knuckles from Naoki ready to go!

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n165/326yusef/IMG_3185_zpsdpe06uym.jpg

Was pretty bored waiting for the container to arrive so I decided to have a little art project with the car..

FREE WILLY! Btw, 3M headliner adhesive is the truth! It's hard to see the detail, but the cloth hugs all the headliners curves and doesn't sag AT ALL!

I helped a friend part out a Aristo and he let me take these. I'll be using them a little differently than they're supposed to be used.
