Kosei K1 offset question

Yep, another offset question....

The car is a S13 coupe with Suspension Techniques lowering springs used for daily driving. Looking at a set of Kosei K1 wheels 15 x 7 with 205/55R15 ES100 tires or 205/50R15 Azeni Sport tires.

I'm trying to decide on offset. Should I go with +17 or +27? Will I have to roll and/or pull the fenders with either of these offsets?

Supposedly the front wheels in the attachment are +27 offset.

Not sure how those would fit, but does that mean you'll be selling your 16" K1's? I can vouch for the ES100's i've been very happy with those tires.

dunno about the fitment of the wheels but the ES100's i run 4 of them on stock S14 SE wheels and love them...excellent investment...

Someone already has a deposit on my 16" Kosei wheels. He has to pick them up by the end of the month or he loses his deposit. I don't think he plans on flaking out.

The +27 offset wheels will mount similarly to the +32 offset 16x7.5. I think I'm going to mount one of the 16's back up and see how close they were to my fender lips.

The pick you posted is Dousan's old car and he ran spacers a lot. I'm pretty sure he's using some in that pic, but I don't know what size.

My wheels are 15x7 +17 w/ 205/55/15. Great fitment. Offset could be lower, especially if you have negative camber. But it looks pretty decent. Personally, I wouldn't go below 55 sidewall. A 50 will increase your wheel gap and make the car even lower.

That size will stick out a little more than 1/2 inch than my current wheels. If my camber stays set the way it is now, I'd probably go with the 15x8 +12 all around with either 215/55 and roll my fenders for good measure. (although I'm really not low enough to worry about it) If I run zero camber(which I'm going to b/c of all the traveling I'm gonna be doing) and fatter tires like 235's or maybe even 245's I'd go with the +22

EDIT: you should strongly consider the 15x8 +22. An inch wider so you can get more tire under your fender plus it will be more flush than your previous set up. If it's not flush enough for you, you can always get a spacer!

I went out and tape measured it with my car. I've got a little bit of camber and 205/60-15s on stock +40 wheels right now, and it looked like I'd need about 1-1/2" to be flush (almost zero offset).. with a 15x7 it'd be more like +5 to +10. Keep in mind my definition of flush means just that, not PAST the fender like some people.

The +17 would probably clear w/o rolling if you have a bit of negative camber, though with 0 camber you might have to massage the lips a little. +27 will fit with no issues with any suspension, pretty much.

Wider is better. The 15x8 is only $20 more a wheel. Go for it!

i would get 205 azenis over 225 es100. having driven on both I found the grip of the narrower azenis to be better.

As much as I would love to drive on Azenis I think the 205/50/15 is too small for my daily driver. Plus I have a 4.36 rear gear and at 80mph the 205/50/15 would make the KA24DE scream!

I think a 225/50 or a 215/50 on the 15x8 +22 will suit me fine.

There will be more Azenis Sport sizes when they introduce the new model next year. They have 28 sizes planned instead of the current 6. I wouldn't hold your breath for more 15" sizes though. :-/

There were some pics somewhere of the K-1's in 16x8.5 +17, but that'll work. Thats really flush, without strecthing tires, and mucho camber. I would recommend rolling the fenders just to be safe, even though your probably not that low. 16x8.5 +17 with 225/45/16 all around looks like it would be an awesome fitment for a daily driver.

Front you can run +17~+32 and will clear everything. 16x7.5".

Rear you SHOULD run +37, but +27 works. You can also have +27 and have the backpad machined 4mm to +31, which is what I had.

16x7.5" +26 (+22 machined to +26) front, 225/50-16 RE730
16x8.5" +31 (+27 machined to +31) rear, 245/45-16 RE730
