Has anyone else try this product. Cause i did and fits great, but waitin till motor is done to install and actually try it, but reason for this thread was to see if anyone else has tried this imatation b&m short throw shifter, it was very cheap. Also there are 10.2 mm spark plug wires very cheap which i also got and fit very well, has anyone tried these yet well hope to hear from someone soon thanx

Deleted that other post. And you get what you pay for. B&M is just awesome. So much so I'm replacing my OBX with one tomorrow.. it's sitting on my counter right now. OBX is a pos ripoff of C's, and leaks fluid from the top and breaks. C's does neither. B&M rattles above 5500rpm. If a ripoff is less quality, I couldn't imagine driving around with it.

A guy on Norcal Forums bought one (shifter) and said that it was a good deal. He said that there were no vibrations that he heard (but he also hasn't really reved the engine). You can find the same one for $70 on eBay.

I love my b&m... shifts very crisp and very short, great quality! and haha yea the rattling i got used to it... if im accelerating fast, and i hear the rattling, i shift hehe... it works pretty good seeing how power band as around when it starts rattling

i believe in buying quality, cheaping out only makes you spend more money in the long run, replacing the cheap parts that break, imo i would spend the money and buy the b&m, and i did. but to each his own

I have a C's type shifter; it's all metal, no aluminum. Got it on ebay for $55 shipped. Way shorter, comes as a complete set, didn't need anything else. Used zilvia.net tech article as a guideline, it's pretty much the same thing. Much notchier, much shorter, and am able to shift quickly. i dont see how i'd be able to break this shifter. No leaking either.
Everyone says B&M is the best; it better be for ~$200. However...I'm quite satisfied with my $55 shifter which doesn't rattle at all, even at 7000RPM.

with something as simple as a shifter I dont understand how it can matter so much if you get a knock off. If your shifting hard enough to snap a piece of metal as thick as a shifter then you better stop eating your wheaties and save for a tranny since your slamming that so hard i can hear your tranny cry from here.

The new b&m shifter has no rattles what so ever. Mine shifts extremely solid, nearly "pulls" the shifter into third, and made my 6k car feel like i paid 50k. in fact...i just sat in a bmw 545 this past weekend, and my 240's shifter feels better than the bimmer's!

Sure. It doesn't matter at all. Because OBX notoriously have those c-clips fall off down the road. The square metal plate (even though it's a copy of C's, and they have a round plate) doesn't seal the gear oil into the tranny. So it spews out the top. The shift in my car was 20% shorter, but ambiguous feeling because of all the play.
B&M is sheer awesome. Shorter, cripser than the OBX. One of hte best $200 I've ever spent on my car.

I had a B&M in my S14 before I flipped it last year, and I have an S13 that will be on the road in a couple weeks... As it stands, I have NOT entertained the thought of getting any shifter other than a B&M for this one... That shifter is honestly the best feeling thing to do with your right hand if pornography is not involved

I have a genuine C's shifter. It has a squaree metal almunium CNC machined plate. I've had no problems with leaks or anything.

Yeah, I recently installed a Pilot ss in my car and have noticed gear oil dripping down both sides of my tranny. I'm gonna tear it apart tomorrow and try to stop the leaking with some silicone or something. I just couldn't justify the $200 right now, and the pilot feels great. I took some measurements before and after, throw reduced from 6.5 in. to 4 in. (though feels like 3), and side-to-side slop went from 1.5 in. to 0.5 in. Sometime when I am making more money, I'll invest in the B&M, but for now, the Pilot is fine (assuming I can stop the leaking).

Well shit, now I have to get a different shifter!! I bought the OBX one for my swap coming up and thought it didn't matter which one you buy. Guess I was wrong. I'll use it for a little while but go with the B&M soon. Good thread!!
Uh....anyone want to buy a brand new OBX?! (Hey worth a shot)

i agree, i havent had any problems with leaking at all; maybe people are installing it incorrectly? or maybe they just had bad luck...maybe.

No, I think the one the original poster was talking about leaking was whichever one was the knockoff of the c's shifter, not the genuine article.
