Removing Aluminum subframe bushing tips?

I'm planning on removing the aluminum bushings on my subframe and going back to new rubber. Anyone have any tips on doing so? i've done the reverse in the past and am not a fan of them in my 'new' car for the street.

Right now I'm thinking hammer and punch to go thru the holes and push them out, or some sort of pilot bushing tool and slide hammer. Anyone gone thru the hassle and have recommendations?

a press would work better but a good hammer will work...have fun!

Get a piece of wood, and a 3lb or 5lb and have atter.

I did mine with a hammer and all sorts of pointy tools, chisels, big and small screw drivers etc.

Just make sure you use a proper hammer, not a dinky house one with a nail remover lol.

Get some dry ice, cool off the aluminum. Aluminum has a greater rate of thermal expansion so it'll contract more quickly than the steel. Set it up on a bench, give her a good whack with a sand mallet (not sure the exact technical term, its the one that is hollow and filled with sand, commonly used in machine shops).

Just buy a stock subframe... someone will literally be dropping there's to do all that....

For rubber u only cut the inner ring.... I think for solids you had to cut everything out...
