Hey all-

Who's got the new version of the S13 Hot Shot header? I want to get my hands on it, but my second question is- who sells it now? I've been hearing things about Enjuku Racing having it, but if they do, do they ONLY have the new version? I don't wanna wait for the old one to come to my door...

HELP!!

You might want to give them a call. They can tell you everything you want to know.

The new ones are very new. I just saw them today, they are a one peice design(at least the S14's are) now. They made 5 more HP than the previous Hot Shot's. That is not compared to the manifold but compared to the old Hot Shot header.

also does anyone know if this one bolts up better then the old one? Is this for the s14 too? I heard they don't line up with the cat very well.

I HAVE THEM, THE NEW ONES! SO ASK ANY THING YOU WANT! HEHE What do you want to know? I got mine from Enjuku Racing and have had no problems.... All you gotta do is ask..

03-10-2002, 07:34 PM
The bolt up was great, no prob. They are a one peace for the S13 also. They gave great mid range and you could notice a bit off the line power. Loud wize.... Not to sure. Didnt see/hear much of a diff but i still like them.

can I get some pics? how it looks like in the engine bay and under the car? I have an S14, do they still get rid of the cat? can the resonator be replaced with a working cat? is there still a rust problem? and who sells it for the S14?

Sorry to say I have no pics but there has been no rust prob and they do not get rid of your cat but I think I might get a high flow cat soon. Just to see if I like it.

S13240-

That's the info. I have been looking for. When you ordered yours, you didn't have to ask them for the "new" one or anything, right? They just sent you that one. That's my dilemma right now- I don't want to get an "old" one, and I'm not really sure what the differences are (but you guys are saying that the new ones are a 1 piece affair), so I guess that would be the first thing to look for...

Thanks alot guys- I appreciate it.

Was the header worth it though, what are you looking at 4 horses? 10 with an exhaust? And another question, I have heard they are hard to change because the the bolts are hard to remove (and you don't want to break on of those right ) Plus the hotshot eliminates the cat or not? I know it is not Carb legal like the greddy... Is there are big power differnce between those two headers

Whew... k, that was enough questions... any help for me too?

fnshow-

It's not that the header is worth it or not, you have to look at the big picture...I really need them, as I run a lot of spray, and I don't feel that those spent exhaust fumes should linger around my exhaust ports any longer than they absolutely have to. I guess by themselves, they would be pretty boring, but you would normally already have a cat-back at least before you would bother with header...

Just my opinion...

No, no don't get me wrong, I understand the whole headers, back pressure, all that stuff, I am just looking at the big picture too, I want to know what kind of gains you look at... I am the kind of guy who would chage my oil every 2000 miles and my fuel filter and air filter 3 times a year just to keep things perfect you know? But I am just wondering about the headers and how great they are... I wanna know if there real advantages to them... and what the bang for the buck factor is.

Yeah- I'm alot like that too- Alex Chang (I guess he does alot of stuff with magazine publications) said on the 240TechList that he was going to dyno the new ones when they were released, but I haven't heard anything thus far, and it's been quite some time now. Maybe something got hung up somewhere. Anywho- I've just talked to a few ppl on the list that say they have the new ones, the way to tell is by looking at the flanges, (CNC machined) and I guess they are claiming more horsies, and a broader band...

Don't quote me though, these are only things I've heard- BUT, I WILL let you know in about a week when mine get here!!!!

p.s. I'll throw in a few pics also...

Good show, document the install, and tell me if those bolts on the headers are brutal hard to take off or whatever. I wanna know if it is hard or not, you know, a do it yourselfer or do I need to take it somewhere?

Lots of pics, we need to build up the intalls sections!

From what I hear the older the car the harder the bolts are to get off.

v8killer
03-11-2002, 03:11 PM
I can tell you right now that you can probably do it yourself, the actual header bolts come off fairly easily, the only problem I've had (I've had them off already) will be the EGR pipe...(really sucks) You really need to spray the crap out of it with some type of penetrating oil for a while, and then get a good flare wrench on it, so you won't round off the flange bolt...
THAT part might not be fun- you round that bolt off, and you're beat.
Regardless, I'll let ya'll know about the install in a week or so...

PeaceOut!

Hey V8,

You should change your name because there is already a V8 Killer on Supraforums.com who can live up to his name. He runs 8 second 1/4 miles. Lol.

Just thought I would give you the heads up.

I have a 92 and my father and i did it with the tools at Toyota so it wasnt to hard for us. It DOES NOT get rid of the cat but the new one still doesnt pass Cal testing. Oh well, still a good buy for me. Cant speak for any one else though.

So that means I won't pass emissions if I put this header on? I'm moving to cali in a couple months.
