We have a new JDM product for the s14, that will allow you to convert to a single wiper. This coversion will allow that single wiper to travel all of 180 degrees. The wiper will rest in the normal position and will not be stuk 45 degrees across the widshield. Similar to the mercedes setup, just a little simpler. No height changer in the arm travel.

We have a few of those, but not way to test it. Simply no time to do this.

We will offer one conversion arm for free, just pay shipping. All we want in return is a small paragraph with a comments and feedback on the product.

Really, no catch. Its about a $35 item, not available in the US. I don't think its been seen here.

PLease do not comment on the single wiper conversion in this thread, even if you are against it.

Here is the pic.
Please email me at [email protected] if you are interested.

AGAIN, S14 only at this time.

Thanks

since I'm relatively close to him and was once known for being one of those single wiper guys (long story involving a mechanical fuel pressure gauge and line of sight) I'm attempting to take him up on it.... I'll let you know how if I actually get it and how it goes

whoa it moves all the 180 deg. thats coo except singel wipers suck ass only because they are less effective at removing rain from the winsheild. they have to travel a lot longer than conventional 2 wiper systems. also forget about using the top left corner of your windsheild cause its not gonna cover that. i have an idea for a wind shield wiper where its one blade that travels up and down both a pillars. it would cover more area and it has to travel less.

lol... good luck trying to rig that

anyways, it looks like Yury found a couple suckers already... err... guinea pigs. I might end up buying a "kit" anyways just for shits and giggles though.

I saw this post on FA but I'd much rather ask the question here Why do touring cars use a single blade if they are supposed to be less effective?

its a slight weight gain and when your going 100+ miles an hour windshield wipers are basically usless. the rain just gets off the windshield by itself with all the wind

Ugh - I remember all those posts about your ricerwiper

I like the way Yury cared enough to import the kit - but not enough to put it on any of their cars

lol.... it turns out if i want it i'll have to buy it. it's only $35 so i'm contemplating it, but there's more important things to worry about, and the cool part about the single wiper conversion is having your wiper stuck at a 45 degree angle

you know... jgtc cars use single blade setup too. I dunno why really. but then again, MB E class uses a single blade as well. I'm sure them germans know what they're doing. I'll stick with my squeaky dual-blade setup. hey, if it don't squeak, it ain't a 240... just listen to the brakes

The only reason I can think of that they would use a single blade is to reduce drag slightly, and also it takes more power to move two blades instead of one.

misnomer
03-10-2002, 12:34 AM
Or, to cut back on more drag, just remove the wipers alltogether!! Kickass!! I'm going to make a "Get rid of those pesky ass wipers" kit, have my friend Jimmy put his name on it so it can be JDM, and sell it for $200. My idea, all mine. Don't take it or I'll spray paint your tires green. You have been warned.
