View Full Version : SR20DET redtop in an s14 previous owner mess

I recently purchased an s14 with a redtop sr20det swap done by a previous owner. It is running off of an s13 ecu with nistune, and I was told it has a wiring specialties harness in it. I have a quick question about the oxygen sensor wiring and harness location. I bought a skinny o2 sensor from enjuku, and I'm trying to get it wired in. The connector on the sensor is a three wire connector, a flat oval shape, but I am having trouble finding the harness connector to plug It in to. I'm not 100% sure if I have the right sensor connector. Can anyone give me a ballpark of where I should be looking or if I have the right sensor connector?

locate the pinout for the ECU. they are all over the internet, just search up whatever the cover of the ECU says on it.

Then do a continuity test, using a $5 multimeter from harbor freight.

The most important wire is the signal wire. Find this wire first so you can locate the plug.

On the specialties harness the lead is at the beginning of the wires that go to the tips,temp,Cas and maf. It will be by the firewall somewhere it about 1' long.
You could go to the wiring specialties website and follow their install guide.

The install instructions helped a little bit. I'm not sure which harness it is from them, but they seem very similar regarding the oxygen sensor. But, the ship that installed the harness didn't follow the directions very well, and the harness is tucked poorly. The instructions say the harness should run across the firewall zip tied to brake lines and the sensor connector should be pretty close to the coil pack sub harness. It's nowhere near it. The only free connectors are a four pin square connector where the IACV should be, and another similar one further away, neither have a white wire that comes from the ECU's o2 sensor pin. I may have to disconnect everything and redo it all.
