Yes, they can redo the tumblers inside the lock itself to match your ignition.

Who did you buy the car from? A repo yard? Used Car dealer? Private Party?? Ask them if that is the only key or if there is a second set of keys. They might have replaced the ignition switch so that's why the ignition key doesn't work on the doors.

Also, have you tried spraying some silicone spray into the lock cylinders? They could be gummed up with dirt or whatever and thats why they are not working right. That's happened to me on my trunk lock..it got clogged with dirt & didn't want to work anymore....sprayed it with silicone spray & VIOLA!! it started working again!!

Also, does the key just turn in the lock but doesn't open the door? Maybe someone slimjimmed the doors open & popped the latch rod that opens the door lock/latch mechanism.

Tried calling your local Nissan dealer? Parts counter guy can pull your key code from a catalog book using your VIN & make you a whole new set of keys for your door. All you have to do is take in your Vehicle Registration and your drivers license & they'll make one for you. Just make sure they use a buffing wheel on the key after they cut it with their key punch tool. The key punch tool often leaves the edges of the keys kinda ruff so the key may not work properly. I've seen my local Nissan parts guy do this plenty of times at my local Nissan dealership....he even cut me a new set!! 8-)

Give these all a try before you call your local locksmith....any questions just hit me up privately....

put an alarm on it, with keyless entry and never have to mess with the keys
