i am currently planning on some changes for my car (kouki s14). i am ordering 17X8 +28 rims (245/40). i had yoshi side skirts and a factory front lip on my car, but im planning on removing both. my car rides relativly high (1-1.5" lower than factory), and i still always scrape the front lip on stuff... i want to lower it another inch or so, so im planning on just taking off both the side skirts and front lip. (dont really care too much about looks at this point, and dont want to pay for painting).

now, i'd like to get some input on a few things. i'd like the wheels to sit flush with the body (if not maybe a hair wider than the body). im guessing im going to need spacers... and i was wondering if i needed longer studs for the spacers i need to get my wheels at this state. also, do you guys think i'll need to roll my fenders with the wheels flush at that height?

lastly, i have a question reguarding my front bumper. it was quite unstable when i purchased it (my car is a 95 w/ kouki front end). i think the previous owner did a pretty half-ass job of putting on the front bumper... maybe he forgot brackets or something? anyway, what do i need to secure the bumper from moving in and out? its almost like its mounted only on the top and the bottom can sway back and forth? any of these parts listed possibly? http://www.autobodypartx.com/nissan-240sx_89_98-car-parts.html

any input is greatly appreciated. thanks!

The lower shroud should hold the bottom of the bumper somewhat, the fender liners will help also.

A 17x8, +28 will look OK, almost flush, I'd put them on and align it first, see where it sits and go from there. Spacers and rolled fenders can always be done later.

17x9 +25 if you can find it. Should sit how my wheels sit right now with my 17x8 +10. Send me a pm and I'll show you a pic. You can probably fit the 17x9 +15 fnorc-1 with...both with fender roll of course.

17x9+15 fn01rc fit so easily and i have like so small camber (finidng out today getting alignment)
i want +9 if i add soem camber at a good amount on 9"

but 9" +10 fits good depends on tires fender rolling etc etc etc

you have an S14 so i'd go with at least 9's in the back. don't the S14 boys have more roomout back than us?

you're heavier so you'll need the extra meat :)

umm... if you're planning on dropping your car more, roll your fenders.

right now i have 17x8.5 + 5 in the front and 17x8 +10 in the rear. if you want flush flush, +28 is not going to cut it. to make 17x8 flush in the front, you're gonna want at least +0. for the rear at least +5. i know im slacking in my rear but i ran out of spacers.

you dont need extended studs for bolt on spacer adapters w/ studs already pressed in. you can prob. get them custom made to whatever size you wanted. i think most come standard from 25mm.

if you really plan on running 245s.. i dont know. you might have to pull the fenders. but all this depends on camber, exact height..

i'll take pictures of the wheels i have on now and post tonight

Don't forget tire size matters alot. Many people can fit the 17x9 up front because they throw like a 215 on there....if you wanna get some real rubber you'll need more negative camber.

I need to check out someone's S14 with coilovers to figure out what offset to look for with 17x10 in the back later on. All I know is 17x10 +35 should easily fit my car with strut spring combo I currently have but coilovers sit differently er go my dilemma.

I'm trying to run as much rubber as I can on the 17x10. Not sure how wide a tire you can run before you rub on those 17x10 +15

Whoa....i want those mommy!!! 17x10 +15...how much did you had to pull on those fenders? didnt think 10" +15 would clear the rear without rubbing at all. I was thinking of going 18x10 +20 in the rear to play it safe and 18x9s +15 upfront just to be on the safe side. :D

Isn't that 17x10 +12? Unless you shaved 3mm off for +15... They come in +12, +25, +35.

fujiwara, most likely you'll need spacers to flush it up. If you're running 245, it may be flush enough for you since most people run 225/45s on 17x8. I'd put them on and adjust according to that. Anything over 6mm for the spacer, it's recommended to get longer wheel studs. If you find your self going with say like a 20mm spacer, it may be beneficial to run a wheel adaptor that bolts on. 2.5" for a drop isn't that low, but you may find yourself rubbing on turns, so you probably should roll your fenders. It's not hard.
