Hey Zilvia!

I've got a Carbonetic Silent 2-Way LSD, currently fitted into an s14 R200 housing with a 4.08 R&P plus the corresponding 2x3 output stubs. Pulled this out of my s14, and finally got around to opening it up.

Ooh. Carbon. But what makes this diff special? Carbonetic built this LSD carbon clutch packs and friction surfaces, which allows for a noise/chatter free operation. No obnoxious noises from the rear end, and no excessive tire noise in parking lots.

I'm moving to a z33 diff (better gearing and axles) for my s14. Even though I want to keep this, I don't feel like changing the ring and pinion to better suit my t56.I never got to drive the car with this installed. Heck, I haven't even got to drive the car since I picked it up last summer. But with myself and my business partner trying to rotate the output stubs in opposing directions, we can't get it to slip. Oil was clean, no sludge or grit at all.

PICS!

Housing is dirty as hell, I'll clean it up and paint it before I ship it out.

Before you ask, yes. Carbonetic is out of business. However, you can contact the fine folks at ppi-ats.com for rebuild parts/service on this LSD. Here are a few snippets from their FAQ section.

Q: Can I use ATS repair parts for my carbonetic clutch and LSD?

A: Yes. Even though Cabonetic copied some of our parts and made them overseas, the dimension should be exactly same. So you can use ATS repair parts for your Carbonetic clutches and LSDs. However, Carbonetic Pro Blade is excluded."

Q: Is ATS LSD streetable?

A: When a customer asks us this question, it usually means if our LSD is quiet and smooth. The answer is Yes. ATS carbon LSD (both old model, Spec II, and type street) does not have any chattering noise and the engagement is ultra smooth. In 2009, ATS released super silent LSD which is a metal LSD but does not have chattering or cranking noise. [It does chatter mildly during the break in period. However, after a 25min to 30min 8 figure break in, or after driving about 500miles, the chatter will disappear].

Q: Do I have to change LSD oil more frequently for the carbon LSD?

A: No. The recommended oil change interval is same for ATS metal LSD and ATS carbon LSD. The carbon LSD went through a major upgrade in 2007 and after the improvement, the oil change is recommended every 2,000 to 3,000 miles which is same for the metal LSD.

I will add cash if your items are worth more, you will add cash if your are offering something of lesser value.

Maverick Motorsports is making swap bushings to fit z33 diff in the s14 subframe.

Good deal here for a fresh 2-way.

Good deal here for a fresh 2-way.

If my measurements are correct, I will have to cut/re-weld a short section of the forward mounting points to make it work with the appropriate pinion angle. At any rate, its going to be very straight forward.

Thanks for the interest!

Price drop! $650 plus shipping. Will consider partial trades for dished 350mm Sparco / OMP / ATC steering wheels.

I already have a weld-on hub & quick release so I don't need any of that stuff. Just need a steering wheel.

***I do not want crap like NRG, Grip Royal, eBay, etc.***
