I am putting up for sale my real JDM Nissan 180SX. I bought this car back in February and have been driving it on and off all summer. It has a US title and is Pa. registered and inspected. The car has a strong running CA18DET and a good 5 speed tranny. It is mostly stock except for an Apexi turbo timer and a Blitz front mounted intercooler. It is black with gray and black interior. The body is in decent shape for the year. It has a few minor dings and some scratches, but nothing too bad. The paint is a little faded on the hood and on the top of the front fenders. The interior is nice except for the driver's seat. The passenger seat from a US 240SX will fit right in, and as you know, most of the passanger seats that you come across are in good shape. Yes, this car is right hand drive, so the driver's seat is actually a passanger seat. I have gold Volk TE37's on the car now, but when it is sold it will have stock steel wheels on it. There is no radio in the car. It has power folding mirrors. The car has 107,000 kilometers on the clock. I am not sure how many miles that is, but the motor runs great. The tranny shifts nice. I really hate to get rid of this car, but something else has come up so it must go. I am asking $7500.00 for the car. I will not take any less, so don't even bother asking. The car has a clear Pa. title and is currently inspected. The car will not pass emissions. I don't know exactly what needs to be done for it to pass, but as of now it will not. If you are in Pa. you have until 2/05 to get this done. If you are not in Pa. then I guess it is no big deal. I will try to post some pics of the car this weekend. If anyone is seriously interested you can E-mail me at [email protected] Thanks to everyone for your interest.

What do you guys think is a fair price for this car? I have set my price by what I have seen other 180's going for. (most that had no US title) There was one on Ebay for $10,000.00 with no title and a busted up front bumper. This car is nice. It is a conversation peice wherever I drive it. Give me some input guys. What do you think the car is worth? It is not like you can go down to the local car lot and buy one of these, so I really don't have anything to compare it with.

you also cant pass emissions with it...easily which most states are adopting now. the 180 on ebay was a 96 with less miles, a new OEM type X bumper and fender came with it, and an SR20DET (not bashing on the CA18 or anything...)

a conversation peice? you could stick a pencil in an orange and call it a conversation peice. that doesnt make it worth 7500 dollars. consider this, you could buy a usdm car and swap a ca18det into it for several thousand less. i dont consider rhd to be worth that much more. id be interested in the car if it were a few thousand less.

relax, the price isnt that bad...

if it were LHD it would be a $4000 - $5000 car, no?

the RHD-ness does add a premium, not sure how much though...

so even if the car is worth only $5500 - $6000 then his asking price still isnt far off enough to warrant being a cock-head.

$500-1500 original price of car in Japan
$2k for shipping to US
$1k fair markup
=
$3500-4500.

woo. it's JDM
woo. it's got a CA18DET and FMIC
woo. it's RHD
woo. it's a real 180sx.

My 180sx was $2k here. If it were a 240sx, I think I could get $6k for it, based on the mileage and mods.
CA18 180sx sell for fucking DIRT cheap here. Drifters fond of 180sx snatch them up whenever they crash their current car, pull the motor and toss it. Only a few tuners ever/still like(d) CA18.
Don't believe me about their cheapness?
Look on Yahoo Auctions Japan.

oh i know they are cheap.

in ontario, a 240sx in good shape with that engine would get $6000 - $7000 CAD, and with the rhd conversion there will be a couple guys who are prepared to pay a premium.

and so in USD i translates into a little less than what he is asking...

what would it cost to take an 89 USDM S13 and put that engine into it and do the rhd?

I have talked to a few people by E-mail today and yestrerday who were interested in my car. It looks like there are some people out there that feel my price is not so bad. I went to A to Z imports yesterday afternoon and bought a used Bride Brix seat that looks like new. I put it in the car this morning and cleaned up the interior. The interior is now perfect. I also had my friend buff the car this afternoon. The hood and fenders now shine nicely. Most of the scratches also came out, so the body and paint look pretty good right now also. I think if I have time tonight I will also put a head unit in the car so there is at least a working sound system in it. I have a few laying around. (the stock speakers are still in the car) I forgot to mention in my original post that the car has a Magnaflow exhaust on it. I think that has something to do with the fact that it won't pass emissions. Anyway, thanks to everyone who was interested that E-mailed me and didn't try to lowball me or tell me that I am crazy for asking what I am for the car. And I guess if someone wants to buy the car for $7500.00 I will leave the gold Volks and new tires on it.

I stuck a Pioneer CD player in the car and hooked up the stock speakers. It is not the greatest sound sysyem, but at least now there are some tunes in the car. Filling up that hole in the dash didn't hurt either. I also have the original Japanese radio that was in the car when I got it. You can't pick up any stations on it, but if someone buys the car it will go with none the less.
