@hobbs - we found it restricting flow for the cooling system. Tried flushing it but didn't improve it to warrant leaving it in the loop. It's still there, we just connected the two hoses together.

Do you have any pictures of the underbody showing just how bad the rust is? If there was enough water sitting around in the trunk to rust a hole the entire way through, there's likely a leak, probably related to the ill fitting trunk. You have a ton of pictures up, including one of the trunk, but you're not showing where the rust is and how bad it is. Car seems to need a lot of work for 19.5
