Anybody else enjoying this under-appreciated game? It's the best Playstation2 game to come out in ages and it doesn't suck like the older Gradiuses. Anybody that complains that games are too easy will love this game... and it's $30 brand new :naughty:

Fuckin love the Graduis series. My favorite was Life Force. I'll be picking this one up.

Damn, i remember playing the original gradius on SNES. I use to love playing that game.

nice-pure ol' skool flavas updated proper...may death come to the man who mocks scrolling left to right. I bet the old up,up,down,down konami-jammy works too!

side note: I used to love "The Hunt" on NeoGeo for all the same reasons- pure sideveiw mayhem, and slow-downs to help you cope

yup, the konami code works, but you dont get 30 lives this time =]

this game is like Life Force x100. I didn't realize all the Life Force homages until I saw someone playing through the NES version a month ago... Several bosses from Life Force show up as midbosses/enemies. The boss music from Life Force is also remixed... on a side note, the guy doing the music for Gradius V is the guy who did the music for Final Fantasy Tactics.

I forgot that Life Force was the only "gradius" that was 2 player simultaneous. The other gradius games were 2 player alternating. My cousin will freak out for this game. Him and I spent way too much time trying to see how many times we could beat lifeforce together.

on a sidenote, Life Force is a stand alone title away from Gradius....it's called "Salamander" in Japan...

i forgot the chronological order of events in teh game, but Life Force is supposed Gradius 2 in the US i beleive?
