i got a pair of cheapo "nex technology" racing seats from a friend. they seem to fit my body fine, but they sure dont fit in the car very well!
the s13 has all those humps in the front, so the racing seat sits WAAAAAAAAAAY to fricken high... what are my options for mounting this seat? im thinking about just braking down and buying the corbou (sp) sliders/brackets, because even if i make up some low profile brackets, the seat is gonna be so high that i could never fit properly.
who has racing seats in their s13, and what method did you use to attach the seats?
any advice is appreciated...

Let me guess, they're bottom mount, right? Nobody uses bottom mount seats for a 240sx and has them fit well.
Except me. Me, my friend, his welder, and my DIE grinder went to work on some Honda EG rails that came with a Cobra bucket seat, it's now probably as low as a bottom mount seat can become.
Good luck with that.
And it's Corbeau.

I had a NEX bucket in my other car.. It was a side mount.

Well, that's what I get for assuming stuff I read about on message boards...
It doesn't mount too high up?

UPDATE on this thread:
i tried mounting these seats with the stock 240 brackets, i got the right side of the drivers side seat mounted, and all i needed to do was slot out the brackets a little more before the left side would have been in the right spot to bolt down. HOWEVER, its not really even close to fitting.
1. seat hits ebrake when its slid forward enough for me to be comfortable.
2. head is like 3" from the ceiling
3. head is like 1.5" from the a-pillar
4. seat needed to slide 1" further towards the a-pillar to get the brackets to line up right!!!!
so long story short im selling a pair of black on black nex technology buckets for 320 pick up, or cover the cost of shipping.... lol will not fit in a 240, but if you have a honda im sure it would fit really well... (i know it would fit easily in my accord but i dont want racing seats in there)
the new plan is to order a pair of corbeau A4's from www.apexperformance.net i talked to linda, and she was very very nice, and called corbeau to ask about fitment notes in s13s, and was helpful in suggesting a seat that would fit better in my car (she knew how shitty s13s were for seats! lol)
anyway im getting a pair of A4's and brackets for $718 with free shipping, not nearly as expensive as i thought it was going to be for "real" racing seats.

lol terribly pathetic update!
got the A4's in, and they sit ultra motherfucking high. my head is about 1-2" from the ceiling.. ebrake is fine, and its hard to reach the pedals. i dont know WTF to do at this point... i thought i got "the right" seats, i am just about to sell these motherfuckers and get some s14 seats...
also got my KTS coilovers on and the car rides a lot better. i havent gotten a chance to really test them cause its been raining out. :(

I have Corbeau Forza seats in my drag S14 and with the adaptors and sliders, they sat too high. I removed the sliders and mounted the seats right to the adaptors and they still sit a bit higher then stock. The nice thing about the Corbeau Forzas is that the seat cushion is removable and modifiable. I will probably cut the foam down a bit and be seated at the same level as the factory seats. Also lucky for me is that without the sliders the seats arent movable but the seats are positioned just about perfect for my height.
