That one doesnt factor in stretch.

stretch will differ between manufacturers and tire width. that'd be a damn hard thing to calculate for

I wish they wouldn't. That way, people would have to find out the hard way and maybe in all that work, they'd realize that hipari is UGLY.

Why would you really need to calculate for tire stretch? If you have to stretch your tires then the rim width should be the widest part. Just use that measurement for the width. The only measurement that would be slightly off with stretched tires would be the amount of sidewall, but I think this would be fractions of an inch at most.

Ok, take a dismounted tire and try to squeeze it to a different diameter while keeping it round. I bet you can't do that.

Stretching changes the angle of the sidewall, not the diameter of the tire.

you have to make the sidwalls taller to keep the wheel-to-tread distance the same. otherwise the wheel-to-tread has to be less.

yes..the shortest distance between two points is a straight line (sidewall facing straight up and down)

When you angle the sidewall outwards, either the sidewalls would have to be taller or it would make the diameter of the tire less.

ugh. its hopeless. Go to a tire shop and ask them to show you how a tire beads on a wheel. I'm not gonig to try to explain it further.

Stretching tires will NOT change overall tire diameter. Maybe a nanometer or two...

So it does change. I didnt say it would change my much, i was thinking a mm or 2, but still. It makes sense that it would be affected.

Hah streaching does change it just a bit. Exp

I had a 215/50/15 on a 7inch wheels, and I had 215/50/15 (same tire) on a 8.5inch wheel and it was quite a bit smaller, Like I could tell by looking at it. Optical illusion... possably, :shrugs: It seems a bit shorter
