I just bought a 240 Zenki s14 and when the lights are turned on the cluster/fan control lights go on and off randomly. Even when the cars not moving, just idling. Sometimes half the cluster lights will go dead, then the whole thing, then it might turn on again. Any advice? I searched but didn't find anyone with a similar problem.

Update, I have replaced the dimmer switch, checked fuses, have pulled out the cluster and everything in the center (radio/fan controls) and I couldn't find any pinched/bare/ungrounded wire. It still does it. Any ideas? I'm stumped....

Is there a control module that controls the interior lights? If not what does? I really want to fix it so it's ready for spring.

Look at your fender wiring harness for ground out wires.

When your dash lights are out are your tail lights still on? I had an intermittent dash light issue in my Stanza and my tail lights went off at the same time. I replaced the turn signal stalk on the column, the one that controls the lights, and it solved it. Pretty easy to replace.

I've had 3 instances where the cluster would illuminate similar.
1 being with a fuse ( don't ask how )
1 being with one of the control boxes not properly grounded in the left kick panel
1 being with a ground issue on the tail lamp circuit.
Check your obvious grounds, use a multi meter for quickness
* understand though I say SIMILAR, your results may vary.

I will try that, thanks!

The tail lights do not flicker, just the cluster and fan control lights.

The tail lights do not flicker, just the cluster and fan lights. All exterior lights are fine. I'm starting to believe it's not a ground because it's doing it stationary.
