This is a very rare find. The car is garage kept, never driven on track, only driven to shows, meets and occasional nice Sunday afternoons. I put less than 1,200 miles a year on the car. The car runs great. Ice cold A/C, smooth pull with the new turbo upgrade. Installed the GT2870 turbo upgrade a few months ago, still need to install a Power FC and bigger injectors and an aftermarket clutch to hold the power. Could easily get up to 400rwhp out of it without spending much money. I haven't dynode the car yet as it sits. The car is a joy to drive and I was planning to keep modding it, but it's time to let go. I never really get a chance to drive and enjoy the car that much. Figured I would sell to free up some cash. No rush to sell, but interested in reasonable offers. Listed my email below.
I just took some video and iPhone pics recently.

C-West aero is cool.

...but you're gonna have to prove it's legal before anyone on here is going to touch it. That price is nuts, too. I mean, if you paid that much to ACTUALLY legalize it then it's not too gnarly...I think...

Nice S15 nonetheless.

If this is FED. legal than it was imported under the Show & Display law, but usually that only applies to rare or significant vehicles (under 500 units produced). Example of rare would be a S14 Nismo 270R.

If this is only STATE legal than its worth like $15,000. But of course, you live with the fear of it getting crushed at any time.

It's pretty clearly a state titled car. No S chassis cars were brought in by motorex, and no S chassis cars are on the exemption list for show and display. Even the Nismo 270R.

You can view the list here - http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/import/sdlist040109.pdf

This guy can produce a Texas state title and insurance forms showing that it is insured, and that in no way means that he has a federally legal vehicle. A state title is completely meaningless when discussing the federal legality of this car. Period. If that's all the documentation he has, his car is subject to seizure. Granted, it's not very likely that it'll happen and you're probably going to be okay if you don't daily it, but do you really wanna drop 36 grand on a car that could be straight up taken away from you? Especially when in Japan those cars aren't going for anywhere near that much?

People with their state titled cars and are upfront about the reality of it are cool in my book. I know several. I considered picking up an R33 GTR a few years ago for 19k. I'm glad I didn't, though, because the importer that brought it in got heat from ICE and ended up having to release all documentation showing where their cars went to. You better believe every person they sold an EVO, RHD Type R, and GTR to had knocks on their doors from the frowny police. Do you want that to be you?

State legal is not the same as federally legal, which is what everyone is referring to..

If it's not fed legal there are certain issues with price and the real possibility of being seized by the feds with no recourse. That's s 36,000 dollar risk no one is willing to take. Show and display is another area if brought in under that poses it's own risks and restrictions.

Good luck with sale. Always wanted one of these!

This is exactly how you get your car crushed. :picardfp:
Using other VINs to register the car is a big no no.

The car is not Federally Legal because it was not a complete car when it was imported. The car was built ground up from the chassis by GS Motorsports when imported. The car was inspected, weighed by the Texas DMV for Titling.

Mhh... I would expect someone who has the money and knowledge to own a 15 to understand sarcasm.... IDK.
Beautiful car, unfortunately, at that price and title status, it looks like you'll be keeping it for a while. That is unless you find a local kid with rich parents.
Beautiful car nonetheless.
Bump for a fellow texan

Fully legalized

(several posts later)

The car is not Federally Legal

????????????

Your idea of "fully legalized" was getting a car state registered? You had the money and time to bring the beautiful car here so I'm sure you're well aware but let's just make it clear: registering a car has 0% to do with its legality. You register a car to help pay for roads, repairs and other state expenditures. It also gives the state a way to track the owner in event of accident, abandonment etc. The state doesn't give a fuck if your car was legally brought to this country or not, they just want your money.

This isn't so much directed at just you, but you and the other 100000 people who will post gray area cars this year thinking they did something special because they titled an illegal car. It's not hard. My state doesn't have inspections. At all. I could title a Russian space shuttle or an Abrams tank. Does this make it legal for federal or even state road use?

No.

I have to say that I HATE IT when people are not upfront about complete details of the car, especially something that is extremely important like the legality of owning such a vehicle.

OP should have just said titled and registered in Texas, instead of stating "FULLY LEGAL" which is completely FALSE. The ad was completely misleading. I am surprised the mods didn't lock the thread already.
