Looking at doing a purchase in a few days with them and I've heard good and bad, any members personally deal with them?

Had a good friend buy an R32 GTR through them. It was a good car, with quiet a few upgrades on it. However, it still had the built up maintenance issues you'd expect from a 25 year old car. When I asked him why he didn't use JDM Classics LLC, he said they were more $$$ than he wanted to pay at the time but they typically turn out better conditioned cars. Seems like thing was in the shop ALL THE DAMNED TIME. He had the car for about a year before he cut it loose for a newer Audi.

You won't have any issues with them. I am personal friends and am at the shop as much as I can be. Which car are you looking at? All that is left if the black and red one right now i believe. I can tell you all about them as I've spent time around both.

Alan would be your sales person at the houston location and is a top notch guy who would walk you through the process. If there are any other questions you can ask me. I don't work for them but they have helped me with my car and I didn't even buy it through them.

I'm looking at auctions with them and one price buy on auctions. They seem like good guys just makes me nervous when it comes down to dumping thousands on anything. I've seen some horror stories online.....as for the surf guy, I don't wanna sound like a dick and maybe there was miscommunication but I would never assume a 5spd swap would be that cheap with labor inside a shop....like I said idk how that went but that's my 2 cents on that with personally working in shops.

I apologize if this is in the wrong thread too, I skimmed there but it seemed like people were posting from experience as where I'm asking for the experiences.

cliff notes:
"I want to pay $700 bux for a auto to manual swap on a car that doesn't exist in this country. I can't pay only $700 bux for a transmission swap, with parts and labor included? RIVSU SUX!!!!"

So, maybe take that entire post with a grain of salt.

That was my point exactly, which is why I posted it for some context.......good catch :)

It seems no one here is capable of actually READING and interpreting actual information (or reading between the lines). It's a lost art it seems :picardfp:

OP, I have never dealt with them before, but I as well am looking to import and have been in contact with them. So far, they have been very responsive. I will let you know how things transpire (although my timeline for purchase is not until close to the end of this year, so I may not be of much help :( )

Actually, that's the first good post you have had in several weeks! I read through this quickly last night and that same gentleman posted his experience here if my memory serves me correctly :)

Hmm, I remember reading about that story when it happened. Couldnt figure out how it didnt get pinched at the border considering the production month for GTRs didnt start till Aug/Sept time frame. Good explanation on how he managed to circumvent that with the canadian importation paperwork.
