View Full Version : What does Dynamic damper assembly do?
I have two bad rattles in the rear suspension and noticed that these on each side are loose. Thats what the noise sounds like it is coming from. What do they do?

You're missing pictures. I'll assume you're talking about the little rubber pieces mounted on the forward section of the rear subframe. They are installed on the manual transmission models to dampen drivetrain vibrations. I've never heard one rattle. More likely to be subframe bushings, shocks, or worn suspension arm joints.
Sorry I don't have a picture but thats what it is. part # 55490.... Well some other people have reported major rattling from them. When I moved them around the pitch of the sound was the same. I just dont see how they could dampen anything and how they broke. I wonder if it really would make a difference if I just removed them. It looks like the part has been discontinued.
