Has anyone ever fixed their pump hanger's wiring that was damaged from rust and got loose/broke off? My hanger is still nice except for those wire connectors that goes through the top. Previous owner jerry rigged it but I'd like to fix it properly. Has anyone been able to bypass the stock connectors and still have something clean? I'd like to keep the fuel level sensor.
I was thinking of drilling though the stock connector and use the stock rubber grommet as insulator to pass a wire straight through.
Thoughts?

If you are talking about inside the tank you have rust you should consider dropping and cleaning it out. Not sure what part you are talking about.
