looks like someone hasn't been to the forum lately...i'm sure that mark has seen the many many complaints about the new forum...he's probably working hard on it right now...we'll see what happens....well mark??? <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

It's a lot different than the old one, but it's so much quicker, and "Mark posts as read" works better on this one. I'm really starting to like the new forum a lot better. So many more options (like the polls obviously), and I really like the new sections "Parts Installs and Reviews" and "Archive and FAQs." I'm sure we will be filling those in like crazy in the summer when everybody is working on there cars more.
Great job Mark! Thanks for the hard work you're doing for us!

where is "Mark Posts as Read"?? i haven't found that yet!! gotta re-read everything so i don't miss something. thanks in advance! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>
also i've noticed we can't go back and add smilies, bold, italic & underline within the text after we've typed.....it always defaults to the end of the text! am i missing something!!
personally, although i freak out with computer changes, gotta learn all over again, i like all the new "abilities" we have now. we'll get used to it! apparently more to come! praises to Mark for all his hard work!! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

"Mark Posts as Read" is at the very bottom of the screen, in the middle. You'll see it when you are viewing a section (chat, tech, etc), but not when you're viewing a post itself.
About the smilies and stuff defaulting to the end of the text, AutomotiveForums is the same way. You will just have to Cut and Paste them where you want to put them.

finally found this again.......thanks Lauren!! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>
so we have to manually "mark" what we've read?? cuz the old system automatically marked as read iirc <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/eh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':eh:'>

Yeah it did, but that doesn't always work right. It depends on you closing out the browser before it marks everything, so if you just switch forums or something, it won't mark them as read.
