I'm looking for a steering rack for the 240. found a brand (reman) A1-Cardone Rack for $130. pretty cheap. just wondering if anybody has purchased one of these and how it worked out.
Any input is appreciated, thanks.

I did before I think from autozone. Racks are hit or miss but a1 Cardone is a good brand.

What'd the rock auto one run you? Never ordered through them.

Rock auto doesn't sell any now but they have an option for you to send your rack to them and they will rebuild it and send it back. it's about $180 but you have to cover the shipping both ways so you wouldn't be saving much vs. getting a reman, (or obviously getting the A1 Cardone which is $143 plus you pay shipping to send your core in)

I got one off eBay from unitedpowersteering and it has been good for me. They had the lowest core charge too. All my local auto parts stores couldn't even get one.
Cardone is as good as the underpaid employees that were working that day. I've personally never had a problem, but my friends that work on cars 10x more than me have bitched about having to return stuff 2-3 times... Which can be a PITA.
Have you considered looking for a local shop that can rebuild yours? I bet shops that specialize in older cars would know someone.

Is it one of those lifetime warranty things that Autozone does? I put a re-man in my last s13 and it was fine, pretty sure it was a Cardone if thats Autozones go to brand.
I used to run their re-man axles when I was super low and fucked up the joints a couple times in one year. They would replace them no questions asked. Worth every penny if you ask me.
