SR20DET:
When I bought the car, it ran fine. The day after purchase, it began a series of issues (not holding idle, running lean, rpm surging, etc)
I've changed multiple things, and am now stuck on what to do.
I have changed the ECU and MAF to an RS Enthalpy ECU + z32 MAF.
Changed injectors to 550 (tuned for it on the new ecu)
New fuel pump
New fuel filter
Checked intercooler for leaks (none found)
Checked for vacuum leaks, can't find any
Checked the timing chain, and it is in timing (10 links from each tooth).
The car runs decent when the MAF is unplugged, but it did the same thing with the original sr20 MAF and ecu.
Could it be grounding, maf wiring further in the harness, or? Any ideas? I just want to drive the car again.

Z32 maf should be grounded near itself...check all other grounds intercooler piping etc...if has pros while plugged in could be incorrect tuning for maf...I had to send my ecu to Martin a few times to get it worked out for me...on my end I didn't help with using an autozone Z32 maf...

Car has now developed a heavy idle surge, and is maxing out the afr on the rich scale

boost leak test
or put back all oem parts and run the engine to verify it runs normal
Followed by : tuning. a rom tune is only as good as its base setting. its like a glove that one size fits your general hand size "medium". You may need to tweak it sometimes to get it straight (with another electronic such as SAFC). They should be close but because no 2 mafs and plumbing will be the same, no 2 engines are the same, no 2 rom tunes are the same, etc..

So far I have purchased and replaced:
ECU (Enthalpy tuned)
Z32 MAF
550cc injectors
Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Vacuum lines
O2 sensor
IACV
Checked timing
Checked tps voltage
The car still reads 17-20 on the afr while under throttle/boost and at idle. When I replaced the O2 it solved the idle surges, but still reads lean.
I was able to get the car idling/driving somewhat by toying with the throttle screw on the throttle body and the iacv. It idled at 1900rpm, and when clutched in it would increase rpms. Could this be a leak in a line or something? I'm at my wits end on trying to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a BOV? If so, is it recirculated or atmospheric? ...Sorry, edited post, thought you said you were still rich, not lean.

I have a blitz super sound (I believe it's called). It's atmospheric. Ran good the day I picked the car up, after the drive home it started this issue. Could the bov be the issue? If we create a leak by removing the bov, covering the home with our hand and leaving a small gap, it runs richer

Intake manifold gasket(s)?
Were injector o-rings replaced when doing injector swap?
and if so, swapped properly? (Well lubed)
What is your idle set at? If its above 800rpm I dont think the ecu will go into idle mode, there fore the ecu will "hunt" for smooth idle by adjusting timing on the fly.
Possible bad O2?

Improper battery voltage could it to surge also. If everything isn't getting proper voltage the car won't run very well.

True dat good thinking^^

It's a new battery, so check the lines/grounds?

Put your volt meter on the battery while it is running, what voltage is the alternator putting out? is it surging with the engine?

If I toy withe the screw on the throttlebody, and iacv, I can get it to run extremely rich but it bogs it when you give it throttle
Also, when I touch the gas, my fuel pressure gauge dips about 5 psi or so. It's a new pump, so should I try hard wiring it up or thoughts?
The car hiccups when it idles as the afrs fluctuate from 17 to 20. It also idle surges randomly, and to idle rich it needs to sit at 2800rpm+. When driving it want to idle at 500- rpm and gets super choppy.

What a mess. Set it on fire.

Here's a video, it gets boggy under throttle, and the fuel pressure drops under throttle

if fuel pressure is dropping check fuel output and also fpr...maybe see if you can have buddy help check the voltage to the fuel pump with load on...could be wire grounding somewhere

I'm checking the fuel pump voltage today. I disconnected the connectors, and cleaned them out. When I hooked them up and checked my pressure it dropped 20 psi. Maybe the pump isn't getting enough voltage, or a bad ground in the fuel system somewhere?
Any other thoughts, nothing is too far out at this point

Hardwired the pump, and the issue is still there. Possible fpr?

disconnect a fuel line and put it in a gallon jug...see how long it takes it to fill up...also while hooked up lift up the whole rail and turn key on while engine off (power the fuel pump) and see if any injectors are leaking...if nothing wrong there maybe fpr...

Ever solve the issue?
