I have 2 broken studs in the head which are the exhaust manifold bolts I started out drilling with a small bit then useing a EXTRACTION bit to remove the stud properly and the stud is just being pushed further back what can I do so I don't go to FAR and damage the head ? Please and thank you

Always use reverse drill bits to remove broken studs. Using conventional drill bits will spin the stud tighter into the head.

for this job i hate using the typical easy out bolt extractor. Too often they brake while youre trying to drill it out and you dig yourself in a deeper hole.
try to find a extractor set like these;

these ones you drill a pilot hole and you pound in extrators with a hammer and they bite into the broken stud and then you can carefully turn it out with a socket.

Get it to a muffler shop and have them weld a nut on the end and then back it out. Extractors are a bitch and you'll need cobalt bits to drill the pilot hole.

You were right the extractor bit broke off into the stud but I got 1 out of 2 studs closer and to the edge and not in the back anymore now just have to remove the broken piece and try again with maybe these
