I saw the ad for it on TV and couldn't believe it. But Loews and all the crap theaters around here aren't playing it. The first movie I actually wanna see and they're not playing it. Damn them, and their free tickets they sell. I got all these "free tickets" as gifts and haven't been able to use them cause the movie has to be over a week old. What kinda BS is that, now they're all expired cause every time I'm there the movie isn't old enough for me to use my stupid tickets! I hope Loews crumbles to the ground.

Anyway, I'm gonna download it now, I heard a rumor about a live Neon Genesis movie in the works.

The movies and series are based on the original manga. The first movie actually occurs during the 2 series sometime according to their timeline. The 2nd movie happens after everything. They finally have a good dvd rip of it out, not the crap theatre camera one that was out a long time ago.

ghost in the shell was originally a manga (comic). its a 6 parter with each part being a pretty self contained story. same characters throughout. you can get it from darkhorse comics.

then, that now-famous animation co. did ghost in the shell the movie. its based off some events in the comic, but its got its own artistic style. the movie was very serious and philosophical, while the comic was funny, dramatic and more in line with shirow's usual stories. the artstyle is COMPLETELY different. shirow is typical anime fare, albeit very very detailed. the movie had grittier, more realistic looking characters.

afterwards, shirow started working on gits2: man machine interface. basically the manga sequel to gits. been done for a while... dont know if they brought it to the states.

after that, they started making ghost in the shell : standalone complex, which is a tv-show ova episodic more faithful adaptation of the original comic. i believe that is still ongoing. you can buy it in bestbuy.

now they have gits2 the movie, which i really haven't read anything about yet.

if any of you guys don't know the name masamune shirow... you don't know anything about anime at all.

The only bad thing about the movie, is the subbing. Terrible subbing. There's atleast parts to where, the guy didn't translate it. Great movie, none the less, but the subbing, and how they not only wrote one quote on the bottom of the screen, but repeated it at the stop, cluttering a the screen, with white type. I'm gonna have to wait when this hits DVD and grab it again.

I'm downloading a "DVDRip" version. hopefully It will work out. it's like 1.2gb or something.

Just hope it's not a bin file. If it is, then you have 2 choices, burn it as an image, or download a certain software. If it turns out to be a bin. file, then I'll give you further instructions on what to do. Unless you already know what to do.
