View Full Version : Cymbal cleaning?
Sup doodz!!
Aight so I gotta perform at a game tommorrow and me and the other cymbalist need to clean our cymbals, he needs to clean his BADLY. I was wondering, does anyone know how to clean these? I've heard that the cymbal being dirty messes with the sound, and some cleaning products can actual ruin the sound and finish even more. Someone wanna help me out?!!?

i forget what we used to use, i havnt played percussion since high school. (wow im helpful! :D)
Haha, on our old cymbals we would use car wax but we can't anymore since we don't have the smooth cymbals....we have the grooved cymbals....What cymbals did your line have?

use zildjian cymbal cleaner for cast cymbals. if they are cheap as shit cymbals and are sheet alloy use the sheet alloy cleaner (which since sheet cymbals blow) is mostly windex.

everyone is so gung-ho about claybar working on the car, so maybe that'll work on cymbals? :)

use the zyjidan polish or a good wheel polish..and some windex. worked wonders this summer in drum corps.
