Hi all , I was attempting to remove my oem exhaust manifold on sr20det to inspect then sell my turbo. I managed to remove all nuts with ease the lb come to realize that one of the ones in the middle is stripped rounded out. I will upload a photo of the specific nut in a few. At this point I've tried almost every method I could think of. I'm looking for some advice of what to do in sure the fellow zilvians that have encountered the same issue thanks guys.

Did you try vice grips?

No ill try that it's in the tight spot in the middle of the manifold.

I misread that you said the nut was rounded. I was thinking the stud itself was stripped. So it would probably be hard to fit vice grips in there.

Try hammering a 13mm socket on to the nut. Or any other size socket that feels like it could be persuaded on to the nut.

Buy a set of these.

Trust me, they'll come in handy more than once.

Hell yeah. We use those at work to remove wheel locks for customers that forget where they put the key. Work great.

Hey I have those but the issue is that ,where the nut is the turbo is obstructing me from getting to it, I was thinking of trying to remove the turbo from the exhaust manifold but it looks very difficult. Is there a way to remove the turbo from the manifold ,motor is installed in the vehicle.

I will upload a photo of the nut location when I get a chance guys. So you can see what I'm dealing with.

If it's that center one I'm thinking about, that'll be very difficult to get out.

You can try the ol' hammer/chisel method.

Are you talking about one of the nuts on the underside of the manifold? One on the #2/#3 runners?

Those take a wobble socket just to get off. Not sure how one would go about removing one of those nuts with an extractor, being as you have to first hammer the extractor on to the nut.

May god be with you, sir

Here is some advice for when you remove that junk. Go to Nissan and use the 350z exhaust manifold studs with locking bolts. Def mo betta results and easier install and removal
