The flow of SR20's has slowed over the years. I remember the days of JHOT, Sr20 store etc. Where do yall get SR20's from now. I see plenty on ebay from Canida, but I don't trust ebay and I have heard only bad things from Canadian import companies.

I am looking for an S14 SR preferably from a Zenki as I heard/read they are easier to work with than Kouki SR's. Please correct me if I am wrong on that.

California has some decent engine houses. I recently got my RB25 from JDM of California. they compression test and send video of the test.

Where in Georgia are you? Call Sam at Tiger Racing. He doesn't advertise selling SRs, but he can probably help you. https://www.facebook.com/TigerRacingATL/info/?tab=overview

Seconded. I bought my S14 SR from Dewey almost 6 years ago and it's still going strong.

eBay

every time eBay

Doesn't matter what motor. I've bought 2 SRs and a 1JZ all from different sellers. Just look for a perfect seller score and they will be much less likely to fuck you. Sellers with 100% really put in the leg work to make sure it stays that way. Other websites or sellers have no system to keep them accountable. Anecdotal evidence you read on here is only single experiences. The seller score is an aggregate of hundreds or thousands of transactions.

Conyers. I didn't know tiger racing as still a thing. They used to post on 240atl a lot. Then disappeared. I though they had shut down.

You have a point there.

checked jdm depot and the other one, both have no S14 sr's.

My biggest concern is picking buy an engine that I cannot see in person. Getting a bad engine would be disastrous.

Yeah, sometimes the best sellers don't always have what you need. I had to wait a month or two to find my last Type-X blacktop with the correct J4 ECU. Typically the better performing guys will work with you though if you contact them. I had the compression checked, more images sent, and he even replaced the fan shroud that got smashed by their shipping carrier. 10/10

Dallas JDM motors is local to me and theyre on ebay as well. super professional and always have tons in stock. Never personally bought a motor from them, but I did help a buddy buy one for his 2.5 altima from them when it blew up.

I on the other hand found my S14SR in a junkyard in VA, but that was a much different situation.

This is honestly what I wanted, to buy someone's full swap. Sell the pieces I don't like and then go from there. cheaper lol for sure as I see fullish swaps go 3500-4000.

yup that's what i did. just kept an eye on craigslist and local facebook groups for a couple months until a good deal popped up. ended up being easier and cheaper than buying a stock sr from one of the local importers in the end.

If you buy one off ebay, try to get one that has a compression test video, as some places will test and post the video in the description while others do not

also, sometimes it's good to pay a little extra for a little cleaner one.

I buy about 10 engines a year on average and currently use JDM Alliance in Garland Texas, by far the cleanest engines i've seen and the guys are very cool, prices are on par with the norm. Nash (owner) is a very personable guy and always willing to help.

I used to buy from David at JDM engine corp in Richardson but he made a big fuss about a sentra engine when i returned it due it a burning oil issue upon start up and missing throttle plate screws, after that i took my money elsewhere.

Agreed, I got fucked in the ass by jdm engine Corp, with a rod knock engine they sold little 17 year old kashira and wouldn't take back.

The engine I bought from jdm alliance isn't knocking and is in fair condition despite some accessory issues. They clean up the engines really well too.either that or they are already that clean

They also sometimes put their compression vids on eBay. Mine had a video

Nadauto can do a compression test on request, and if your buying a front clip they can crank it and show you that it runs.
