This is not over and if just because you think it has been quiet and the dust has settled then you are wrong, the EPA is mirroring California emissions to the rest of the country and Canada working with Canada's EPA. Also a $35,000 fine has been talked about for all non conforming vehicles found, this shit is not a joke and any car no matter how small the modification is at risk ( even a cone filter/ bolt dress up kit would cost you $35,000)

Here is the link:
https://petitions.whitehouse.gov//petition/epa-environmental-protection-agency-has-overstepped-boundaries-regulations-control-vehicle-modifications

If everyone has not seen either of my videos on the EPA issue go and watch them

The petition is to go after the problem which is the EPA and to investigate the head of the EPA for being corrupt and ulterior motive make sure to sign and spread the word.

no it won't. Proportion between offense and punishment is the base of every legal system. And these texts won't pass, no politician is going to accept shutting down a whole industry for "ecologic reasons" -they'd have done it already before.

I don't know if you are being manipulated or want to manipulate people into this.

And, well ... if this pass, it will be a formidable opportunity to get really cheap parts from the US & Canada, so ... :coolugh:

Really shut down a whole industry this will boost OEM because everyone would be forced into buying a new vehicle do you not remember cash for clunkers how it killed the used car industry and everything related to it, these people do not care about what it will do to an industry just as long as their initiatives are passed.

Like I said before the other petitions are just to fight the law when the EPA is the problem. This petition is to shine light on the EPA as a whole.

Fair enough, just wanted to make sure you knew there was a petition that already reached 100k, should shine light on the EPA considering it hit the 100k goal in two days

for the general population I think cats are important because they dont need to remove them but my 240 that I will occasionally drive here and there, I don't drive it enough to even bother. Thanks for the help and spread the word.

If an affordable, bolt-on cat converter were available for the S13 I would run one. The only reason I don't is the fact that I can buy a test pipe and slap it on for $50. Vibrant has high flow options available but they start at around $500 from what I have seen.

Also, I've always wanted clarification on this: Are 25+ year old vehicles exempt from emissions? If that's truly the case, won't it only be a matter of time before all S13 owners don't need to worry about it regardless? Excuse my ignorance- I've never known for sure.

I think thats dependent by state. I live in mass and 15 years are exempt from emissions, CT is 25.

EPA is only 21 years DOT is 25 years and this is the form for importing cars so I would believe it applies to the rest of the cars in the US.

If this law passes every state and county will be required to conform to California's new emission law's this also included Canada, also if the law passes there wont be any cars on the road old enough to worry about not having cats or egr.
