Floor mounted Racing seats

I am looking at getting some Corbaeu Forza Sport side mount Racing seats.
I'd like to mount them as low as possible and I am not worried about running sliders as I am the only one that will be driving the car and it's only for competition.

That being said has anyone mounted their seats directly to the floor board only using the side mount brackets?

I would like to see setups similar to what I am looking to achieve.

Thanks for the advice unfortunately that doesn't fully answer my question. I'd just like to see exact setups of when the seat is mounted directly to the floor board.

I figured the tranny tunnel had to be modified. However I am more interested in exactly how the brackets are mounted to the floor. I know the metal seems to be pretty thin.

I know someone who did this, it worked but I think was it was pretty shitty and wouldn't trust a few welds and a thin, rusty floor.

Or better yet, use long "counterplates" on the inside that run across the width of the driver area, wrapping upwards against the doorsill and transmission tunnel and welded in place. You would only be adding 3mm (1/8" as per FIA regs using steel).

Google some pictures to get an idea of what others have done. It's going to take some fab work.

Derass, Thank you for this. I would be perfectly okay with creating something like that. I've been looking for pictures similar to this type of setup however I have been unable to find anything at least in a 240sx.

Just a heads-up, mounting to the doorsill interferes with the chassis harness and hatch/gas door release but I managed to make it work.

Thank you so much for this! How did you get the hatch release to work? That's the only thing I should be keeping in that area as I will be running a 4 point harness.

My forward bar was welded to the doorsill right where the latch use to bolt up. I just tack welded it a little bit over.

When I said chassis harness, I meant the wiring harness for the rear lights etc. It runs down the driver side doorsill and passes over the existing brace that runs across the car. So just keep that in mind. It will be obvious when you take the carpet out.

Thank you for clarifying that. I already have my interior completely stripped out. I am redoing my chassis harness so that's why that didn't cross my mind right away.
