View Full Version : How can I fit my 92 R32 headlights on my 95 Zenki?

What up.I was wondering if anyone out there knows what marker lights and possibly fenders I might need to make this swap work?I was thinking R32 markers naturally but I'm not sure if then I'm gonna have to get fenders etc.I can make the headlights work with some bracket movement and a little creative trimming but the angle where the headlights meet the markers won't work with the Zenki ones.

trim the fenders and/or fill in some parts with bondo.

Buy the R32 markers and use them as a template to cut out of the zenki fenders and shape-form with glasss, reinforced with some fleece for rigidity. Basically a lot of measuring, trimming, sanding, and shaping.

get all the r32 parts and bolt them onto your s13, they all fit, hood, fenders bumper lights, i think theres a little modding needed, but nuthin major,
sell your 240 and buy a r32... DONE

Thnx alot dude.I was hopin that would wrk but I didn't want to buy the markers unless I was sure. What about the grill I'll probably have to get a skyline one too eh?Is there anywhere I might be able to get clear R32 markers that you know of cause I've been searchin and came up short.
And all the trash talkers out there it's not my fault that I was born with a creative mind and a good eye so stop hatin and maybe you'll learn somethin.
P.S. I would just buy an R32 and get it over with but in Canada they don't meet crash standards.

And I dont think that most of the people in this thread will learn anything from a Canadian n00b who comes out swinging at mods and respected long time members.

Welcome to Zilvia, look around for a while and I'm sure you'll learn that if it doesn't improve performance, it's usually ridiculed. R32 lights on an S14 does nothing to improve performance = you get a mild flaming. Now an R32 engine in your S14 could possibly improve it's performance = you would find individuals willing to give you advice. Ricers have killed the conversion idea (thank god), but it is still your car, so feel free to do whatever you want to it. But please don't get butt-hurt if we don't share your enthusiasm.

Ya I feel that man.Likewise.I'm not just buiding a performance monster I want somethin original and really eye appealing and at least it's not a civic with a skyline kit or some cross mod POS.Where I come from it's all civics and Preludes and a 95 240 fully Japped out with projectors and SR20 will be unheard of.Thats why I do it.

If you want projectors that bad, just go with a Kouki swap. It would be alot easier then a R32 custom job, and the lines would match up. Don't worry about standing out with body mods. Stand out by having a clean car that you can actually drive. Body-mods were cool and all, but whats going on behind the wheel is alot cooler then what the front end looks like.

Awesome thanks for the advice man.I'm new @ all this so everything is T&E.I like power and the 240 I now realize can be a serious rocket and its a hot looking car. There are some Darkened Zenki lights on rare trick.com I've been thinking about. :werd:

Don't worry about what anyone says, in attempts to bust morale. I admire your initiative. That being said, uphold your perserverance, even against the collective minds who think a like and do not wish to deviate into unknown territory for whatever reason. Many are intimidated by what you are attempting to do and fear as well brings out emotions and opinions which are not helpful or favorable.
As for the grill, I would suggest buying the whole headlight/sidemarker/grill set and removing the zenki front for a good measurement project. The hood may have to be die-grinded a bit for sake of the headlights. I would fabricate some brackets for the grill with those heavy-duty aluminum brackets from any home improvement store, L-Brackets. The angle at which the R32 lights come in may be too drastic and require you to move the brackets out toward the bumper about an inch so that they not only line up fine, but give clearance for the grill so that there will be minimal gapage.

I appreciate the help...your version actually is alot easier than what I came up with in the beggining. These ppl don't bother me they just don't understand.I'm not a mechanic or a body man but I haven't paid a red cent in labor to do any of my mods so far and don't plan on ever paying.I rely on the ppl I work with and good ppl I meet on the net that actually have knowledge to teach me.And driving is my passion so there definatley will be equal attention payed to the powertrain and already on the suspension as the rest of the car.

But keeping it real it is all about performance
Keeping it real is about being true to yourself and beliefs while not letting other influence your way of thinking to please them. That, in itself, is the opposite of "REAL".

mmm, dude, have you ever SEEN r32 lights on a s14? UGLY!
i don't really care if cars or people go all show or whatever, fine with me. Most people don't give s15 swaps crap because its a really pretty front end, for that kinda money, you can probably buy a turbo kit or a SR20, but hey, whatever your money. To rephase, looks good, okay, most people don't mind body mods and won't give you that "whats under the hood counts and body mods are wasteful" crap. We rip on ricers cause they spend money on useless body/show mods that makes the car look BAD, not tasteful, or hot.
So please, know what is ugly, and for sure know what it will look like before attempting it!! The reason why its rarely done is cause it looks messed up. People confuse with rarely done with never thought up before. Rarely done means something is wrong, never thought up before... well, you're going to have to try a lot harder. There is just something about the R32 lights... but they look wrong on anything else. I wish i had a picture to show you, but i'm sure someone else can post something up.
I give you props for TRYING to be different and do your own thing and willing to put in the effort to custom and fab and all that other crap. But do something else. maybe s13 lights on a s14? or hell, something crazier and never attempted before. whatever, but R32 lights have been attempted before by adventurous individuals (mainly cause the r32 and zenki s14 fronts look very similar) and i have yet to see good results.

Try using the search button here on the forums. I just did and found numerous threads about this same swap. If you dig deep enough you can find pics too, at least of unfinished projects. It still looks like alot of fabrication and filling to me. I still think you should go with Kouki, if projectors are that big of a deal to you.

Ah shitty because I wanted the bumper because the Zenki fog lights I think are hot and with a front lip spoiler, factory side skirts, silvia rear spoiler and LE rear bumper that would complete the body look I want along with a lot cleaner headlamp assembly(not ugly yellow ones) :rl:
eh, the skyline idea is pure garbage...some artist you are
no offense but you have no artistic eye, you might wanna change fields before you get in it too deep...the R32 and the S14 have such conflicting lines, the R32 is very edgy and sharp, the S14 (especially zenki) is very smooth and round. You just may not combine them, it cannot be done and look good. If u really want that "japped" out look and u really must have projectors, i suggest AT LEAST trying the R33 headlights, they're rounder, (as is the entire body of the car) and will fit an S14 much better

jesus christ those r32 lights are hidious..... the j30 lights look decent, it might just be the picture though. 240skyline, your acting kind of childish lashing out at everyone who has a comment on your idea. by the way, dont you want to tell people you have a skyline? i mean, look at your handle and all.

I was going to do the same thing about a year ago but I never went through with it. I have pics of the set up completed but but it had alot of gaps and the alignment for the marker lights was really off and stuck out.

Ya I went back to an old forum and seen the pics of them on your car.It was those pics that changed my mind.If they could be mounted more towards the center they might look better but you'd need custom markers in order for it to look good.I'm scrappin it,just too much work I got other things that I got to get on the car in my very little spare time b4 I put it away for the winter.

In the dark the R32's look ok, but in the light you can see how messed up the gap is between the headlights and the markers. Thanks for the pics dude.

experienced people are telling you stuff that you want to ignore and rationalize because you can't simply be honest with yourself. i may be a jackass sometimes but at the very least i'm honest with myself.
