Ok so I've already done some research and I took note that in the 93 240s there is 2 timing chain guide plates to remove and were deemed unnecessary by Nissan. Has anyone removed the guides and had success? The noise is killing me. I have a rebuilt engine and the timing chain is new and really tight. I don't see why it would be making this noise. Just want to hear peoples experience with doing this.

I have an MSD 6AL with MSD coil hooked up. I know the spark plug gap needs to be set differently if I remember correctly from my 93 cobra?? Is there anything else I should know about it? fyi It has a 6k pill and I'm happy with that

Also, my drivers side automatic seat belt isnt working but passenger is. Are these easy to swap out? Could it be jammed? Any advice is good advice, new to the 240 scene.

The automatic seat belts have a lifetime warranty from Nissan. As long as you didn't intentionally modify, alter, or otherwise fuck with the seat belt system a Nissan dealership will fix them.

Yeah, dealerships will give you a bunch of shit and be really difficult when it comes to warranties on the seat belts. No one wants to do work for free. Be firm though and they will do it..

s14 seat belts are probably the next best alternative

Wrong, there is a plastic accessory guide on the upper chain (driver side of engine) that is removed as well per service bulletin.

Biggest reason people get rattle is a flaw in the design of the tensioner. It does not mechanically lock. (Meaning there is nothing preventing it from collapsing when oil pressure isn't present or the spring wears)

I removed both timing chain guides and also threw a new tensioner in there while I had the cover off. Haven't started it yet but I will give it a go tomorrow. I will also try stopping by the nissan dealership to have them fix it. If its lifetime warranty, its lifetime warranty, right? I got a buddy who works there so I think it will go smooth. Thanks for the replies I will respond back tomorrow with results!

Started it up the noise is still there. No where near as bad but still annoying to me. Should I have just threw an upper chain on it while I had it all open?
