i finally found a factory harness from a 95 200sx to replace my butchered harness.  i wired it all up.  the 200sx plugs didn't have wires for the ground or power antennae.  what can i do to get my ant. working?  anyway...  my stereo (jvc) turned on and appeared to be playing the cd... but i couldn't hear it.  i had it wired right, but i couldn't hear anything.  i've read somewhere about a factory amp or something.  can anyone give me advice?  this stuff went so easy on my 97 se-r and my girlfriends 96 altima.  HELP!

How many wires do you have left? You need to find the remote turn wire for the factory amp.  Try a different ground to the chassis.  Check your power antenna wires to find the color code of the wires. Wire the power antenna lead from the receiver to it.  Just double check all your wiring.

If it's not playing then you didn't wire it right. . . There is an antenna control or a 12v accessory or remote turn on wire somewhere off of your deck. This goes to the antenna's auto stick up thingy wire.

Does the deck play? does it have power? You should hear music regardless of internal amps or not. Check your volume control first off. Then check to make sure your speakers are on the right wires in the right directions.

Hi dosborn,
Heres a trick for you. &nbsp;you need to find out which wires remain from your "hacked" original harness. &nbsp;One or two of them are for the power antenna. &nbsp;The 240SX harness doesn't include ground either, it is grounded to the chassis with the factory metal brackets. &nbsp;Also, if you do not have the remote amp power wire hooked up, your speakers WILL NOT PLAY. &nbsp;You will NOT hear volume from anything if the amps are not powered up. &nbsp;Being an install technician has taught me this! &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> &nbsp; When you find the amp turn on wire ( i don't have my wiring in front of me) you should hear all the melodious sounds from your cd. &nbsp;
Thought #2: &nbsp;If you want your deck to sound really good, you need to bypass the amps anyways. &nbsp;This can be done by rewiring the deck to the speakers. &nbsp;This will take a few hours at best, but it is a good sound difference, and also won't ruin your deck. &nbsp;
If you are curious about what I have said, or think I don't know what I'm talking about IM me at UMassDude42 or TwoFourTSX ! &nbsp;Hope this helps you!
