I plan on installing one as the driver's seat in my S13. I just thought people would like to know all the fitment info... too many times I see people do unusual installs and never give up any information. I don't care if people copy my work, in fact I'd like people to copy my work because I bought a pair and I'm going to be selling one. :D
The bolt pattern on the seats isn't quite the standard Recaro... The side to side bolt spacing is still 405mm, but instead of a 260mm square pattern, they have a 290mm square pattern... kind of hard to describe...
The normal Recaro bolt pattern is like the Bride RO pattern:
These seats... basically imagine the rear bolt on each side was moved back 30mm. Just thought people would like to know. I bet SRDs from a JDM Integra or the seats from a VW GTI are similar. It's not a big deal, I'm basically going to have to drill two new holes in my rail.
One annoying thing - Mitsubishi used blue thread locker on the screws that hold the seats to the Lancer rails. They rounded off my 5mm hex key... they take some muscle to remove.
Another thing I don't really like, the mounting points on the seat base are raised off the frame of the seat by about 1/4". So, it's going to sit that much higher. Not a big deal, but not SUPER LOW YO! The rail I'm using is the offset "JDM" type, a Bride copy with the adapters for "RO" type seats (the Brix II etc. and standard Recaros). My rail shipped yesterday UPS ground from Cali so it should get here next wednesday. I'll update this post then.
Oh, about the other seat... I'll be using the Evo driver's seat in my car in the driver position. However, the Evo passenger seat can be used in the driver's position, too. It doesn't have a recline knob on the other side, BUT, there's a plastic cover that pops off, revealing a splined shaft for another recline knob. You could just pull the knob off the other side, or get a new knob... I see them on eBay from time to time, and I'd bet Recaro NA can supply them.
They're very comfortable seats... not race-spec, but the fit is very nice for me, and the bolstering BLOWS AWAY any stock 240SX seats.
