I plan on installing one as the driver's seat in my S13. I just thought people would like to know all the fitment info... too many times I see people do unusual installs and never give up any information. I don't care if people copy my work, in fact I'd like people to copy my work because I bought a pair and I'm going to be selling one. :D

The bolt pattern on the seats isn't quite the standard Recaro... The side to side bolt spacing is still 405mm, but instead of a 260mm square pattern, they have a 290mm square pattern... kind of hard to describe...

The normal Recaro bolt pattern is like the Bride RO pattern:

These seats... basically imagine the rear bolt on each side was moved back 30mm. Just thought people would like to know. I bet SRDs from a JDM Integra or the seats from a VW GTI are similar. It's not a big deal, I'm basically going to have to drill two new holes in my rail.

One annoying thing - Mitsubishi used blue thread locker on the screws that hold the seats to the Lancer rails. They rounded off my 5mm hex key... they take some muscle to remove.

Another thing I don't really like, the mounting points on the seat base are raised off the frame of the seat by about 1/4". So, it's going to sit that much higher. Not a big deal, but not SUPER LOW YO! The rail I'm using is the offset "JDM" type, a Bride copy with the adapters for "RO" type seats (the Brix II etc. and standard Recaros). My rail shipped yesterday UPS ground from Cali so it should get here next wednesday. I'll update this post then.

Oh, about the other seat... I'll be using the Evo driver's seat in my car in the driver position. However, the Evo passenger seat can be used in the driver's position, too. It doesn't have a recline knob on the other side, BUT, there's a plastic cover that pops off, revealing a splined shaft for another recline knob. You could just pull the knob off the other side, or get a new knob... I see them on eBay from time to time, and I'd bet Recaro NA can supply them.

They're very comfortable seats... not race-spec, but the fit is very nice for me, and the bolstering BLOWS AWAY any stock 240SX seats.

Glad you like them!!

Why not use both seats though?

I'm CHEAP! :) I MIGHT use both eventually, but for the time being I only ordered the driver's side rail. If everything goes smoothly, I might get the other rail. It's just a budget thing. I guess I could be nice to my instructors. :p

Thanks for the seats, by the way!

Okay, I was just playing with them a bit more...

The spacer things are only on one side. They're there to make room for the seat belt stuff on the other side. So, I'm going to have to stack washers on the other side to get the seat level.

The lever for the Mitsubishi rails is attached to the seat, not the rail! So there are a couple tabs hanging down from the bottom of the seat that might hit the rail. I'm hoping they don't, though. If they do, I'll chop them off.

My buddy is a Recaro dealer. i planned on getting "EVO" seats from him. but black swade and silver mesh. its the exact same as evo seat only the center is dif color. The color of the Evo seats only come in Evos. You cant get them in that color from recaro. but anywyas. im putting the same seat in my car. i like them.

AKADriver, where'd you get the Bride copy rail? It just might be what I'm looking for!

jspec. it was only $20 less than the real thing, but, that's $20 more I can spend on taking my gf out to a nice dinner for having to deal with walking over random car seats in my apartment. :hsdance:

Just jump on EvolutionM.com they are on there every-so-often. I was intending on putting the ones that I sold to AKA in the wife's Mazdaspeed but we are selling it and decided to sell the seats.

Typically they go for $1000 for the pair but I sold mine for $800 for the pair

Blah. I spent all day trying everything I know to loosen the last screw, but it won't budge. This is royally pissing me off. Threadlocker does its job too well. :madfawk:

Have you tried putting the bit in a drill yet?

You can buy a impact ratchet that looks like a normal air ratchet and use the socket hex. That will most likely get it out. I hope you have a compressor for it though. :D

Haha, the screw is so far beyond stripped now, that's not an option.

I tried drilling it but it was really, really slow going, and screw extractors (especially tiny ones) never seem to work right anyway.

I might swap this driver's seat with the one still in my friend's Evo (since he's just selling it soon anyway) and start from scratch. haha. He offered last night... I'm not sure I still want to use them anyway, since the spacers welded to the seat are going to raise it about 3/8".
