Hello everybody! I'm Juuso from Finland and I own an Nissan 200SX S13 CA18DET.
In June 2014 when I was sixteen. I really didn't have large plans for the car then, but I wanted to do something that has not been built in Finland yet. Here is the car when I bought her! She was as project and the engine was not running. There were few things that needed to be done to get her running, but I decided to take the whole car apart, because I had two years time to get my drivers license.

After removing almost whole interior, automatic transmission and engine the car was taken to a barn for winter. I did plan to rebuild the whole engine in that winter, but then my family decided to move so I was busy on moving and did not have a lot of spare time while moving and I just had started my car mechanic school.

After taking the car to winter sleep I started to take the engine apart. I painted the block and few parts black. My plan was to make the engine 95% black, but then I was told that VHT wrinkle was a illegal paint in Finland the plan was ruined. I have not still not decided what I'll do with the engine. We'll see in near future.

While the winter I bought some nice parts for the car. Pair of used real Bride Zeta III's, Work Equip 05 wheels and Stancenation x Vertex limited edition steering wheel.

Also me and my dad did do a 6spd Getrag V160 swap and rebuild the engine of dad's JZA80. Made over 500rwhp, but with stock fuel pump and stock injectors engine didn't get enough fuel to make more power. After taking the car to dyno dad bought new injectors, fuel line and fuel pump so this problem will be fixed for next summer.

Finally in June I could do something to my car in our new garage! I test fitted the wheels and the results were.. Well, good I guess?
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1620/23827310382_0e8199ac5f_b.jpg
Few months after test fitting the wheels I received a large package from Japan, Kyoto.

Finally, finally my dream body kit has arrived! Rocket Bunny "380SX" kit! I had to go to garage same night to test fit the kit! I fell in love with it and the fitment was really good!

Next day it was time to install lower part of front lip to bumper. All the holes to the lip were predrilled so I did not need to wonder where to attach the lip.

Next part was to make first test cut to front fender and install the duck tail spoiler.

After test fitting the RB front fenders I did not like how they fitted. They were hitting to body. Time to make some room! All the wiring and dash were removed. I did remove everything from engine bay too so I can make larger tubs.

Also we did make much room as possible to rear wheels. Also notice that this was my first time ever welding! I am pretty happy to the results.

Next part was to weld the cabin back together and test fit the front fenders again! They fitted perfectly!

https://farm1.staticflickr.com/664/23348923006_5e1df8aefe_b.jpg
Front fenders were cutted and stock sound deadening removal was started! Interior will stay at bare metal and I'll only install the dash, door panels and front seats. Everything else will be removed. I am thinking to paint the interior with semigloss dark grey.

After cutting and welding the car together it was time to install all the body kit parts to the car! All fenders and side skirts were installed and next thing to do was installing the front bumper, lower part of fenders and canards.

And this is how the car sits now!

This is going to be a good build!
I hope so! I have plans for paint job that is going to share opinions and some will hate me for it. :D
Also my trailer fender is waiting on my local post office for me, but it is closed for two more days. After picking it up I can start to plan the engine bay! And 326power coilovers should be sent from Japan soon as Mr.Stancenation gets a shipping price information from them. :)

Well x-mas is now over and ended! Finally..... :D
Car is looking sad again. Whole frontend is now dissembled for the engine bay's tubing project!
The plan is to get the whole engine bay welded during my vacation, but we'll see do I have enough time for it. Let's keep the thumbs up tho! ;)

I do not understand who the hell rapes engine bay like this!?
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5686/23880681512_41d28ab4a6_b.jpg
I cleaned up some sound deadening with angle grinder. Really loud, messy and shitty work, but I think the interior will look great after some dark gray paint! :)

I can not understand how hard it is to chose a good color for this car.. I have 180grams of "House of Kolor F14 rainbow" flake for the car. I have been bouncing between red and blue color. I love blue, but this blue it has now is definitely not my favorite shade of blue so the whole car will be repainted and imo red suits S13 really really well.

Today I picked up the fender from my local post office and did some ruff cuts to engine bay!
First of all I did cut the fender in half
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5727/23898863192_c83a637707_b.jpg
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1620/23711397160_ac95d999a2_b.jpg
A quick test fit! Fender needs some more cutting to fit it there. It's too high at the moment.
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1592/24007112895_f61376d9f4_b.jpg
Next thing to do was removing the battery tray.. What a pain in the ass to be honest..
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1653/23378869594_e3ef8e2855_b.jpg
Step. 1 cuts to the engine bay.

https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5758/23639153619_7d2b4486a9_b.jpg
And I ended the day with planning the metal plates for the fender. :) I think it will look good after some welding and paint! :D

Today I picked up some ziptie holders from Wurth. Hella expensive, but I hope that these will make my wiring look better! 0.86€ | 0.93$/pcs. My plans are to move battery, fuse-box and relay-box to trunk.

Welp, the coils didn't come in this week, but I hope they'll arrive next week just like my new tail lights! Today I did go for a fast spin at the garage and did do some sanding and added more body filler. The engine bay is going to be painted in two weeks! I hope that the rainbow flake will look good. :)

Hahaha, thank you! I am still (sadly) running those 1"/25mm spacers on rear and 2"/50mm on front. I still need to get rear spacers done to get a correct match of poke. I know, spacers suck, but I do not have enough money yet to redo my wheels with different setup of inner barrels and lips. :) I am not going to drive with 2"/50mm spacer tho.
It is unique for sure. I like the overall execution... it flows nicely. Congratulations!
Thank you!!
im not gonna lie this is dope and the wheels are acquired taste i have a rb kit myself but just front and rear bumpers... but this is your own style keep it up!
Thank you and sure I will! :)
That flake is insane. And those rear tires give me hope, im trying to fit a slightly taller rear tire and these look to fit nicely. Car came out great, color scheme a little out of my taste but well executed.
The flake really is insane when you see it in real life! The color scheme is really flashy, so it will split opinions. :)
I took a video on my iPhone when I was taking pics and here you can see how nicely the flake works. Sorry for messy garage. :hs:

The body is pretty much ready. Still needs small work to get it 100% done. :)
Engine, transmission and wiring is still missing. After I get the body 100% done and I come back from the car show, next thing is to strip wiring open and remove everything from it what I do not need. :)

Badass job man! Now get a motor in there!
Thank you! Not yet, I gotta do some research what turbo to use and what are the weakest points of CA18DET before rebuilding it. I have heard that water pump and oil pump change is a must. Also injectors, fuel pump, fuel lines and fuel rail upgrade is needed to get 300rwhp. :)
It's a shame that the aftermarket parts for CA18 are rare. Intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, turbo kits, intercooler kits etc.. There is not much where to choose. :/

That is what I am trying to find out. RB20 or CA18. I am trying to figure out that do I have enough money to do a engine swap now and I have been reading multiple project topics and trying to find out what is needed for RB20 swap. :)

Finally I have managed to find out that the RB20 swap is possible to do! Now I just need to sell all my CA18 parts and try to work much as possible to get the money I need for it. Also I bought this harness bar from a good friend of mine and installed it with my girlfriend. Next thing to do is to measure and calculate that the angle of the harness is correct. :) Next weekend there is an outdoor car show where my car will be, hopefully the last one without an engine.

I'd prefer spherical's and solids where I can get them if aggressive driving/drifting is the end result. It's not as comfortable daily driving but the feedback from the chassis is worth it.

I don't want to go with solid ones. I was thinking about it, but I this car will not be a pro drift car so I do not need solid ones and urethane ones are more comfortable to drive so I'll go with them. :)

So my bearing faulty 1JZ-GTE with single turbo exhaust manifold arrived to the garage. We'll see about the single turbo thing since I have something nice at the garage I would love to use! I also washed her so it is nice to start working on a clean car. Had to take a "teaser" photo to FB and IG too.. :D

Well well well! Finally I got to do something with the JZ! Disassembling is started for now and I decided to get myself a new attitude towards keeping my tools, parts, bolts and nuts in their places. Thanks to Broadfield for that!
The single turbo exhaust manifold that came with the engine is a big NOPE for me. Shitty quality, leaks everywhere and seems to be a cheap Chinese ones that like to crack and bend.. I also do have a handmade Finnish twin turbo manifold from KKD and I am seriously thinking about making this twin turbo. :naughty:
I have been here thinking that should I make the engine full black including wrinkle paint or make it just flashy as the whole car is.

I need to get the block ASAP to my local machine shop to check everything is okay. After that we can start rebuilding it and take it to paint shop! I've been thinking about doing something like this with these two colors. Excuse my dirty fingers. :ugh:

Something has been done again! Made almost 600mile trip to pick up Toyota R154, tilton triple plate clutch and Sarling racing release bearing. Good wash, some silver paint and then silver flake/glitter! Looks good in my opinion!

Finally had some good time to spend at the garage and actually made some progress! I installed ACL main bearings, ACL rod bearings, ARP Rod studs and new Toyota OEM oil seals to oil pump and crankshaft. I also painted the oil pump and the bolts that go with it silver so it look all nice and clean, even tho I was being told I am a moran for doing it. :fawkd: Also installed trigger wheel, but didn't took any pics of that..

Thanks guys!! 2JZ would be my dream, but they are getting really really expensive, especially in here Finland, because the market is so small and you usually need to get them from different country. :-/ One day maybe! :)
___
Just a small update while we're here. I washed, cleaned, removed rust and painted water pump and installed it and noticed that this is not going to work.
The pump is going to make painting the block really hard so I am going to remove it, repaint the bolts and try to figure out what color I actually want to paint the engine. I love the 50/50 paint job, but I dunno.... I hate figuring these kind of things out since, I am such a perfectionist.

Not much updates, but atleast something!
Head is installed, valve clearance checked, cams and cam gears installed. :)
The plate behind cam gears is now painted with some lace, I also installed an 326power crown sticker there and there couple extra layers of clear to keep it there. I think it looks pretty cool. :D I also graduated few weeks before and my parents bought me my own tool drawer! It's an empty drawer, but it's still an amazing present! Now I can buy tools of my own choice to it and keep them secure and all nice. Yesterday I installed some water lines and noticed of fucking ugly the upper water neck is since it comes right front of the cam gears... fknposuglymofo.. I think I'll cut it and get some AN-hose to make it look all pretty.

Must be one of my favorite upgrades in a while. :D Villains Drift was kind enough to send me their 40mm extension pieces and now she is starting to look perfect! Expect the zero camber on rear that will be fixed soon to have few degrees less than on front. With a quick look, the amount of camber is -11degrees. <3

Sorry guys, it has been pretty quiet with the project. Finally, after nine weeks of waiting, my parts from driftmotion have arrived in Finland and hoping to receive them this week! Engine mounts, transmission mounts, power steering tank, power steering line, flywheel bolts etc.. small bits.
But this has been happening.
I got some billet & polished powerhouse pulley set. I have to say that these, these my friends look absolutely stunning! Compared to my dad's old china pos set, these are quality. Expensive, but totally worth it if you care about looks too.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4241/35446762101_ba0f8e063f_b.jpg
And my friend got these high quality (but china made, sorry for the let down) intake manifolds as an group buy and I could not pass the deal. It looks really well made and looks A LOT better than the stock JZ one. Oilstick needs new place where to sit. I tried next to the intake manifold, but it looks like shit in there. Tried to change it, but the stick is really really hard to get to the bottom. I think I just need to make the corners more soft and larger, maybe it will work then. What do you think?

Also I wanted to get rid of the stock door cards and make my own aluminium ones to get that race car look. This one is just a version.1 to see what I need to change. I need to make it little bit shorter and a bit higher so I can make a corner that comes to the side window. Then I'll just use self tapping screws to attach it and get that rough look I am aiming for. Almost forgot to mention these "door handles" I made. I want a clean look and I do NOT want to use the old fashion door handles. Going to drill a hole to the door card and just pull this trough. Works really well and is almost invisible next to the brushed aluminium. Also started to do some itasha/anime design for the door cards. Why? Because I can. :-D

Finally! I've been waiting for this moment over a year now. Even tho everything didn't go 110% like planned, I am a very happy man at the moment! Engine + transmission is now in and bolted down. There are some little things to do for now. The new intake manifold hits to the tub. I am going to send it to a fabricator to shorten runners around a 1-1.5". Yea, I know that it will affect the intake manifold performance etc.., but that is the best, fastest and cheapest way to go for now.
To the good things! Engine looks to sit very low on the bay, xcsessive mounts fit perfect and transmission is not hitting the tunnel apparently. I need to take a closer look in couple days to see that I am fully correct with that. My R154 is the shorter version so some cutting on the shifter hole is required, but it's not really a problem.
Also, I am thinking to try out to make the valve covers look like brushed steel. Atleast trying. I'll post about that later when I try the idea out.
Here are some pictures for you!!

My life is full of financial mistakes.. :picardfp:
My friend was selling his Cusco 6pt cage with added harness bar for cheap price. Had to pick them up and yesterday tried test fitting them. They do not fit like welded cage (well no shit, it's a bolt cage) and I knew that so no problem there. I am thinking about making bolted X braces like this Audi R8 has. Shouldn't be a big problem to make them.
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4351/36391513794_297d614d26_b.jpg
These are in bad paint and in a color that doesn't match up with the car so I am repainting them. I am thinking about the engine bay red + rainbow flake, but I am open to ideas! Let me know if you have any ideas. :naughty: Some pics how they fit.

Okayy, it's been a quite fun few weeks for now.
I've started to do the interior wiring, but oh man.. My welder fcreking sucks!!
It uses gas and doesn't have a docking base so doing wiring is really frustrating with it. Going to buy a new one soon so I can continue on them.
I did finish off my valve covers. They just need some clear coating and they should look pretty good. I like how the waves become alive when you walk past them.
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4478/23945290118_19a2967565_b.jpg

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4491/37766080282_9f56c4d1f5_b.jpg
But the Datsun is not why I am making this post.
They say that you should do your biggest mistakes when you're young.. Well... I went with it! I bought myself an new daily driver that I am going to try to use trough the winter. My friend was selling his Toyota JZZ30 Soarer, 5spd manual, worsen LSD, flared and had some small engine modifications. Well here she is!!
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4510/37127971123_891a92bcde_b.jpg
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4447/37127970003_1af58da0f6_b.jpg
For the few past days we have snow coming from sky and weather has went below freezing point so I decided to change my winter tires on. I got some Nankang SV-2 winter tires and well... They're 255/35r18 and my old summer tires were LingLong 265/35r18. They stretched so well to the rears that I decided to get one step narrower tires, the 255/35's. Bad fucking idea. The Nankangs seemed to be 1-1.5" narrower than the LingLongs even tho they should have been only 10mm narrower. I thought that this is not going to go well and you can be the judge.
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4497/37871123172_93ef7979da_c.jpghttps://farm5.staticflickr.com/4448/37871122402_fe576809da_c.jpg
They did not stretch at all compared to the linglongs. Nankang's seem to have so stiff side wall that they just do not want to stretch. Huge amount of lubricant didn't help either. Well.. I've been driving like that for few days and around 30miles now and they have not lost any air so I'll keep driving like that and iff they start to fck with me, I'm going to try to find decent price wider ones to the rear. Front is okay, but the rear is what it is. :picardfp:

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4635/24361882747_eeaa638d75_b.jpg
And sometimes I end up buying stupid shit that doesn't actually help finishing the car at all.. Lambo door hinges!! I've been dreaming of getting these for a while and now I got some DIY models for a steal! 15bucks a pair!! Had to grab them and straight to installion. They need some work to clear the fender perfectly and some minor modifications to make the door line up correct. The door sits around 5mm too far back at the moment.

Yeah, it's definitely not for everyone!
I think that the full chrome is too bling bling for this, black center and chrome lips would look awesome tho! That will happen in future too. I did some research and calculations. For upgrading my suspension arms and brakes, it's gonna take like six grands. Well, young boy gotta save up!

Again a small update, waiting and trying to find some parts at the moment. I started doing some wiring job. I am going to use these universal fuseboxes to replace all the OEM ones. Interior harness is going to be so so simple that I do not see a reason to use different wire colors. They're all going to be red that is going to get wrapped in a black sleeve. Also I am going to mark all the wires with numbers and list the numbers up what is what.
It was awesome feeling to see the Type X light up for the first time! They look so cool! When doing my front bumper lighting I ran into a problem.. The bulb sockets and the wires on them were so bad that I'd have to cut the sockets up and solder new wires to it. I decided to trash them and just order new ones from Nissan. Then I got an email that said Nissan is not producing them anymore... FUCK. I am trying to buy used ones from Finland with zero luck.. If someone of you have a new pair of those Pignose bumper light sockets for sale let me know!

Hey man I was wondering what the paint code is for the colors you used on the exterior and engine bay!
Sorry man, I only have the names for the paint codes, no actual codes. I found them from my local paint shop and just pointed him that I want these, no more questions asked. They're from BMW and Honda motorbikes tho. :)
As far as it comes to colors.. We're going to have one less in near future.... :coolugh:

End of an era has been ended. The black/yellow Equips are now sold and new ones are in!
Also the 24ct gold plated bolts came in and they're amazing!! They're stupid enough for this thing. I think they're 10 times more expensive than stainless steel ones, but eh, who cares?

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4628/26496168118_ee93e735b4_b.jpg
When I posted the equips for sale I got a message and they were sold. I didn't actually think that someone would buy them.. Welp, I threw them to my mom's E90 and took them to the buyer.

They're Work Meister S1 3P in size of
F: 18x10.5j -22
R: 18x12.5j -35
Now I need to find some tires with nice pattern and try to earn some money to buy 5-lug swap, all suspension arms to rear and adjustable LCA's to front. I am thinking of PBM and GKtech. Both are pretty cool brands and have nice quality.
Gotta admit that I've trained my GF pretty well.. Her SC400 is coming up nicely.

Started to desing gauge plate. I think something like this will do perfectly.

Hi there! What were the specs of the Supra's Meisters that you test fitted?
Marphie21
08-06-2018, 04:21 AM
Hi there! I cant find the exact info so I hope you could help me out!
What are the widths of the front and rear V2 fender flares? 65mm front & 85mm rear?
Thanks so much!
Juucso
08-06-2018, 04:34 AM
We have not measured the specs from the Meisters. They're O disk with 3.5" front lips on front and O disk on rear with 4.5" lips. We used 55mm and 40mm spacers to get them somewhat fit.
Front fenders are 50mm and rears are 80mm.
My new wheels are 18x10.5j -22 and 18x12.5j -35.
Those should poke out around 20mm on rear, fronts should be pretty flush on the fender with 40mm extendet lca's.
Yellow Equips were 18x12 -24 and 18x13.5 -16.
Those specs should give you some idea what you need for this wide fenders / flares. :)
Ps; If you have custom aluminium dash pictures, send me a PM or give me some pictures in here. I'm thinking of ditching the OEM dash and going "full retard".
I've been doing some small thing with the Soarer, I've not had time for the S13 lately. When winter comes, me and my dad will get our hands back to the Bunny and try to finish it for 2019.
If you have any questions about the bodykit, wheels or any of the mods I've done, I'm happy to give you some help if you want! :)

Did you change your caster or what fitment are you running. Anything would help!

I did not have any problems with the yellow equips. I moved the bodyline from cabin around 2" invards so no rubbing there either. You can find the specs of the equips from few posts back.

Remove spacers, get 5-lug swap and should be good.
Planning to order GK-Tech front and rear suspension combo packages for me as an birthday gift in couple of weeks. I think they'll do just fine on this car.
Question, has anyone installed CTSV brakes on the GK-Tech knuckles??

No updates yet mate. Just got my customs papers for the 5-lug swap so I can get rid of these stupid ass spacers... Soon to come:
-Rear subframe removal
-Subframe painting
-Chaining subframe bushings to aluminum ones
-Installing new suspension arms. I think these will happen in next few months. :)
Not doing anything in a rush, trying to make her perfect and it costs a lot of money.

Teaser for you.
So, I made a huge order on GKtech.
To front
Front lower control arms (39-75mm)
Extended +20mm ball joint shank
Front knuckles
Offset steering rack extenders
High clearance adjustable swaybar
Swaybar D Bushes
Swaybar leverels
High misalignment outer tie rod ends
To rear
Camber arms
Toe Arms
Traction Rods
Solid rear subframe bushings.
Still coming from them as they were not instock.
Super Adjustable inner tie rod
Rear knuckles
Rear lower control arms
So my suspension setup now is complete basically.
I've already installed driver side parts, but my right hand side bolt from the tension rod is really freaking stuck. Gotta cut it up and order new OEM ones. Amayama says >1 in stock at Nissan. Any good places where to get all new OEM suspension bolts? I'd love to get them as new so everything in the suspension is new.
With the GKtech parts and 326power coils I'm now having around -17 degrees of camber in front. Stupid? Yes. Do I really like it? Yes. We'll see how much I'll use as for me, the fitment is more important than the amount of camber.
Also ordered Federal 595 RS-R tires for her. Fronts will be 245/35r18 @ 10.5" and on rear 285/30r18 @ 12.5". Should be a nice stretch. Nothing crazy tho. :-)
I did some calculations and with this fitment the wheel is 20mm above the fender line. With the new tire there should be around 25mm ground clearance with this fitment.
Rear subframe will be sandblasted and painted. I dunno which color yet tho.
Coils are Green/Pink, arms and knuckles are black, car is blue and engine bay is red. What a fucking rainbow.... :D

I freaking love them! They're one of my favorite wheels and really glad that I were able to get them. Equips were awesome, but they were with kinda stupid specs. Super wide with high offset. :-/
Today got the shipping code from GKtech and from the company where I got the tires from. Everything should be here next week! Oh, also ordered swaybar end links from GKtech. Can't wait to get the tires and rest of the parts so I can start to rebuild the subframe! So excited to get this project closer to finishing.
I think I'll be boring and paint the subframe black.
I'm felling in love with her again.
TBH I had a time period when I just wanted to part out this thing, but now... Never.

Small steps, small steps..
New tires are now fitted.
Fronts were easy to install, but the rears.. Holy fcking sht what a pain in the ass!! These things just do not want to stretch. Well, two nights of trying we got them on and I'm super happy with this size! Looks meaty, but still fairly stretches. Matches on front and rear nicely too. :)
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4824/46143035352_edb76be049_z.jpg
Front wheels are now fitted without brake rotors so those add few millimeters of poke, but I think that the fitment will be really nice!

AAALSO!! Angle for days!! This GKtech kit gives me a nice fitment and I've never seen this much angle! I need to modify the body more to make these go full lock to other side too. :D They hit the cabin(?), I don't know what to call it. Interior? More cutting and welding and she'll be fine.

That's the one! :D
Yup, 595 RS-R. Rear tires needed to be installed with bicycle inner tube that was taped to the wheel and tire and the whole thing was fitted on top of an 19" tire to make sure that the tube doesn't come loose from the wheel.. It really was a pain in the ass. When the tire sat to the wheel where it holds air, it was no problem to stretch. I tried to use brake cleaner, starter pilot, deodorant etc.. to make it sit, but nothing worked else worked.
The fronts are 18x10.5" with 245/35
Rears are 18x12.5" with 285/30

They have pretty much the same sidewall. The rears seemed to be a bit more stiffer than the fronts tho, maybe it has something to do with the width? Fronts are regular tires and rears are "XL" with higher load index.
jumpman2334

I gotta say, I'm impressed. I like how this looks now! I gotta raise her up like 20mm to be even barely drivable, but that's not a problem. I think I've overestimated the need for parts that lower my car. With this ground clarance I still have like 4" of thread left on coils. :D -16 degrees of camber now....

Happy new year everyone!
Few small things have happened in the few weeks. Nissan is finally on the lift!
Uninstalled almost the whole body kit and driver side door for easier access to the lift. Removed the rear subframe, fuel and brake lines.
Next up is removing the fuel tank, inspecting the condition of it and new undercoat for her. I'll do a full cleanup with steelier brush for the underbody to see if she has any rust on her. There is a small rust spot that will be fixed asap.
Rear subframe seems to be in pretty good condition. It will be sandblasted and painted black before reinstalling. It will be so much fun to start redoing it with new and shiny parts! :) Also ordered Auto Collect Storm bumper fitment guides. I hope those will make the bumper sit nicely without any quick release shit.

Some updates!
One night I decided to cut up the intake manifold and see how to make it fit. I were a bit scared when doing the first cut that I've spent way too much money on this to fail. Well, after some cutting, adjusting and more cutting we made it fit! So happy with the final results!
Now I need to make a custom bracket for the throttle cable as the tb needed to be flipped 90degrees to have any chances to make it fit. Should not be a bad job tho!
https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7862/40323444853_5e3592ae23_b.jpghttps://farm8.staticflickr.com/7927/32438603867_80588352e4_b.jpg
I promised myself that I'd never get my diff welded up.... Well, now I have a welded diff on this thing. Also painted the differential as I took it apart. Sorry for the shitty quality image, but you get some idea how the rear and front suspensions are now looking.

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7872/40323445333_fb175dd334_b.jpg
Finally, freaking finally I got some motivation to reinstall both lambodoor hinges and adjust them. They are custom made and did have some problems, but nothing major needed to be done. I'm really surprised how well they close. They feel almost like stock and have zero problems now.
https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7922/40323444483_723850bb75_b.jpg
And to the best part! Today I received two Garrett GTX2860R Gen II turbos! Delivery time was only two days! They look awesome. I hope that the stockish 1JZ won't be too laggy with these. :-)

If everything goes as planned, tomorrow I should get my new brakes. I heard some good reviews from few Finnish fellas with D2 brakes so I got myself a full set of them. 8-pot 330mm set on front and 4-pot 330mm on rear with e-brake on caliper. I'll get some Z32 brakes later on for the hydraulic handbrake that I've not yet ordered. Still waiting on the wiring specialities engine harness and ECU, but they should be here pretty soon. Xcessive driveshaft, R154 extension piece and AC delete bracket have also been ordered! Trying to make some quick progress soon!

Hooly moly these brakes are huge! Easy to install to be honest. Rear had only a small issue with making the adapter brackets fit with the Gktech knuckles, but just small trimming of the adapter solved the issue. Also the brakes did not fit on rear as they were hitting to the wheel. Using a super small 5-6mm spacer we will be able to run them without any issues. Front was direct bolt-on with no need to trim etc.. I think that the purple looks pretty nice with the blue.

I don't usually get hyped of shit I am doing, but looking at the engine bay, I'm starting to get a small smile on my face. :) Not sure if I like the compressor housing being matte grayish. I don't know if I want to polish them or not..

all these legit parts..... and then bam, the welded comes crashing in.
Hahahah! Exactly my thoughts. :D Well, I am pretty sure that I'll break that shit up in no time and then it will be replaced with something nice. I want to try it and give my opinion about it. 99% sure I'll scream out loud "IT FUCKING SUCKS"
Oh btw! Xcessive R154 relocation piece and AC compressor remove bracket came in and I just test fitted the bracket. The power steering pump has a one mount that is hitting the intake manifold and I'll just cut it off. It's the stock one that goes to the engine. I hope I'll not need it...
Also the driveshaft is at customs and I'll pay the taxes for it tomorrow and I just received email from Wiring Specialties that all my stuff is on the way to Finland! More about it soon as I have all the parts at my hands.
Next up is ordering a radiator. I'm thinking about Mishimoto SR20 radiator as it seems to be "small" enough to fit to the engine bay with the 1JZ and still have plenty of room left with zero cutting.
What I still need to get this thing running are:
-Bosch EV14 1300CC injectors
-"R8" coilpacks
-Spark plugs
-Fuel pressure regulator
-Fuel lines
-Intake piping & intercooler
-Radiator
-GTX -> V-band downpipe adapters
-AEM CD-7
-Some brake lines
-Some custom wiring to make everything work for the ECU
-Some water and oil lines
-Powersteering lines
And all this should be done in 30days as I have a car show coming at easter. I hope I'll make it and I am trying my best to make it there. :) I'll keep you updated!

Something has happened in few weeks!
I did not have any inspiration to take pictures of everything, but I hope you believe that I've been doing something else than smoking cigarettes and looking at anime tiddies at the garage. :D
Well. Got the driveshaft, R154 extension piece and ac delete bracket from xcessive and threw them on like a week ago. Also the stock fuel tank was cleaned entirely. I used undercoating to make it all black again and it looked really nice. I promise to take some pictures for you! Almost forgot that I got an Walbro 450lph fuel pump and installed that too.
Yesterday I received the long waited wiring harness from Wiring Specialties and they are good as people say. Amazing quality on it!! I truly, truly fell in love with it when started the installion. With everything labeled, the installion is super easy. No need to think anything else expect how you route everything. Super happy with it! Refurbished stock crank pulley and painted it black. Easy fix for old and crusty pulley is simply wire brushing it good and painting it.
Today I got my "R8" coil packs aka. Audi 1.8 turbo coils that are shorter than the R8 ones. These are the same shit as the R8 ones, but just a bit shorter to fit under the stock spark plug cover.
Some engine bay pictures for you so it's just not text. :D

I redid valve covers after drilling them for AN breather hoses. This time I had some clear left and threw few coats on them for easier cleaning. Dipstick was shortened and reshaped to fit nicely between intake manifold runners. No poking and being allover the place. Super happy how it turned out!
At friday I'll be going to my buddies shop and pick up injectors, piping, hoses, intercooler etc.. small shit so we can do some nice progress on the engine bay area. Tomorrow I'll be banging my head to the wall while trying to figure out where to route wiring harness so it's not so visible. Not really liking how it sits on the stock spot.
Me and my dad have been trying to figure out how to route oil- and waterlines for the turbos. We're getting there, but time is the problem. 15days left to the show and this is how the car is looking. :D Keep your thumbs up that we make it!

Hooly moly I've had few long days with this thing!
Here's a story for you.
Sunday: Everything is installed and ready for start. Hit the start button -> no starting. Whaaaat?? Check wiring again and see that everything seems to be okay. Test the starter with straight 12v and no starting. Starter is broken. For fucks sake... Luckily I had one spare 2JZ starter sitting on my desk ready be sold. I installed that and we have a working starter!! It's 4.00am at this point and I decide to give up for that night.
Monday: Notice that we're not getting any fuel pressure. Pump is working, but no fuel is flowing. See if it possible to have ground and 12v wires mixed. Well, there's the problem! Easy fix. No leaks found and no E85 smelling in the garage. Time to start this bitch!! Nothing.. Cranking is happening, but she ain't even trying to start up.. Start to see where the problem is in the ECU and everything seems to be okay. Ask few friends to see if they're having any ideas. One guy told me that VAG short coil has different pinout than the normal and long length coils. There's my problem! Repin the connectors and we're having a spark! Timing seems to be okay when testing it out when tested out with timing light gun. 10degrees on ECU and 10degrees on engine. Still no starting up. Clock is almost 00.00 at this point and I am starting to get nervous that something is wrong in the engine or injectors etc... Time to go to sleep.
Tuesday: Now it is the time to see what the fck is wrong with this thing. One friend of mine who is good with ECU's helped me see if there is something wrong with mapping of the AEM and everything is OK. No starting up. Recheck timing, do compression check, check all the grounds, adjust fuel and timing etc.. and no solution seems to be found.
After having a long discussion with Finnish Supra Club members, one of them had a problem with AEM ECU where the crank trigger is for some reason reading it 180degrees wrong. After receiving that message, figure out if it possible since the fuel seems to be firing exactly 180degrees wrong. Quick thinking and making a custom firing order that is 180degrees wrong. She starts!! She's alive!! After five years of building, spending stupid amounts of money and time to this thing, it is so so so good too hear her running for the first time in my ownership. After some thinking it could be possible to adjust crank trigger 360degrees and it is. Reset the firing order to the one it should be and she starts up like it's nothing! Everything works now and she's running with a rough idle.
Sorry for not taking many pictures, but I've been so busy figuring all these problems out and I am getting super tired for working on this so long at night and still going to my daily job at morning.
Here's a few for you and the first startup. :)

Congrats on making into a speedhunters post!
Thanks man!!
I got super excited when I received a message on fb "bro, your car is on speedhunters post" :eek3:
Now.. This is what I've been thinking for some time now.
Will I go old school with mechanical "race" switches or will I just get something like Ecumasters PMU with CAN keypad and replace the full body wiring harness with it. If you have something to recommend, please let me know! Ecumasters only have 12position keypad and it really does not have enough buttons for my use. :/

seeing as though you made it on speedhunters and are clearly fairly well known for you build maybe they would be willing to do a bit of sponsorship and make and make a panel with extra buttons for you, if you ask them?
I cannot imagine it being that much extra work for them.

Not really looking for any sponsorships to be honest. It could help me financially, but this car has been built with zero sponsors so not looking for them. :)

Haha, thank you!! I got both, negative and positive comments of the front fitment at the car show. Older people did not really like it, but they were excited to see something new as we do not really have a big "camber culture" in Finland.

Just got some 3" stainless steel tubing for exhaust and started to look how I'll be able to mount the internal wastegates to her. I'll post some pictures when I start actaully doing shit instead of just planning.

Well hello hello hellou!
Downpipes are 90% finished, no update pictures on those yet. Going to order some more piping, 3"->4" stainless steel adapter and some small bits soon. This is what I've planned so far. A bit "extreme", but when I look at this monstrosity it makes me feel like it suits the car. I've heard mixed opinions about it, but I'll go with this for now.
Also trying to make the exhaust straight as possible as I am afraid that the 3" exhaust is not large enough for 2bar boost levels. We'll see after getting her on dyno. I'll be driving this thing to a another show in two weeks. It's only 60miles away from me so it's a good "test drive" to do some adjusting to the map during normal driving. :)
Also installed the wastegates and made a bracket for the lower turbo wastegate as it does not have enough room where garrett has it designed to be installed.

Well hello hello hello!
I hope someone is reading forums even tho Final Bout is here. Keen to see some videos and photos from the event! Seems to be something I'd love to go see some day. :)
I decided to try give this car a first long test drive a week ago. There was a car show 60miles away from me and our "team" Lunatics had their own booth there so why not? I drove around 40miles before the car shutted itself down suddenly. Drove the car safe spot and removed battery negative terminal to be safe. Opened up the hood and everything seems to be fine at quick look. Installed the negative terminal back on and turned fuel pump on and there was ethanol spraying to the engine bay! O-Ring from the 1st injector popped out. :-/ Called buddy of mine to pick me up with a trailer.. As a co-owner of Lunatics, I went to Kajaani on different ride.
At Monday I went back to garage to see what is wrong. Seems like the injectors are not sealing or rather going deep enough to the fuel rail. I shortened the spacers between the fuel rail and intake manifold and the problem got even worse. Seems like the spacers were machined too short from the factory for these injectors.. Welp, with some washers I got the fuel rail and injectors seal properly and now the problem seems to be solved! I'm lucky that the car did not burn to ashes from my own stupid and mistake...
Well, everything and everyone is okay!
____
Before leaving to the show we finished up the exhaust and I installed rest of the power steering parts. This driftmotion billet oil reservoir is really really nice! All the lines are now AN and the pressure line from pump to the steering rack is from driftmotion too. Everything bolted up nicely and I found a nice place to mount the reservoir too. Pretty happy with this!

Well here we are with tuned S13. :)
We went to dyno on Saturday and she made 509hp and 566nm of torq. That's on E85 with 1.7bar / 24.5psi boost. We did not push the engine more as the stock 1JZ cams are the problem here. They do not flow enough to raise the boost and it makes no sense to add boost since major changes to power is not happening. I am more than happy with this setup now! <3

It's winter now and it fucking sucks.
I just want to drive my cars, but oh well. At least I have now time to work on these.
I went to Japan for a month few weeks back and it was a blast. Amazing country, amazing people and the best of all, amazing cars!!
S13 has just been collecting dust and R34 got some new coils! I bought her impul x öhlins sub-reservoir adjustable ones that I found from UpGarage!
These are so cool! Not cool as the 326powers on the S13, but still cool as heck. ;) Only two problems with them are, front upper mounts are bad.
I have to buy new ones and I don't know if this is low enough for me. Rear end looks pretty good, but it sits now 10mm lower than the front.
Both ends are lowered to the lowest point the coils are letting me go..
I still can not figure out if I'd rather like to go with lowered "show" style or something more like "track" stuff.
She needs new tires so I need to make the decision quick!

Can you not lower the front spring seat? I know typically we only want to adjust the lower mount height, but some suspension companies (MCA for example) say that lowering from the spring seat is actually better. Idk how lol.

I did lower them from the spring seat. Öhlins manual said that there is no adjustment in lower mount height as it is a sub-tank version and connects to the lower part of the coilover. Not really a issue as you can just get shorter springs and that would solve the problem, but I am looking for performance so this height will do just fine for now. :)

TBH the height is fantastic.
Everyone is just so used to seeing stance cars, they freak out when someone has a usable, reasonable height.

I think it's just weird seeing a car with over 3" ground clearance next to the S13 as it only has under an inch. Makes the Skyline look like a SUV! :bowrofl:
I've been looking for tires now. I decided to NOT go with the Toyo Proxes R888R as I drive the car as an daily at summer. Usually at summer time I drive around 6000miles so I need like three sets of soft compound tires to make it trough the summer. Welp, gotta figure something else out.
Only thing sure for now is that I am going with 295/30r19 size and looking for a flush fitment to the fender with tire like on the Attkd GT-R sometime ago.

Maybe some Michelin Pilot Sports could do the job well, but I'll look into them soon as possible. I need to roll the rear fenders so I need the tires mounted before doing that. I have a plan that I might take the rear coils out for a test purposes while doing the rolling. I can bolt the wheel on place, lift it up with a jack underneath and see that the tire is not hitting anywhere so there will be no rubbing whatsoever.
