I understand how a final drive gear works. But I don't understand how this makes your car able to cruise at lower RPMs. I thought the ring gear is only to transfer power from input propellor shaft. So you hit a wall with the stock gearing when you have a high horsepower car. due to the Differential. So to get power in high boost situation on WOT you have to get a ring drive that transfers all the power to the output shafts at the increased capability of the turbo engine? So you need to have this gearing or you'll be slower due to the slipping of the stock differential gearning , ie 4.083
